W T F ?
How could EITHER side let this happen? It's a mutually beneficial symbiosis! I don't know if I would stick around if I were Tom Holland. Being part of the MCU was the whole point of this new franchise. Without that it's just SONY's Spider-Man all over again. They might as well shouldn't have dropped the previous franchise.
Oh well... Spider-Man Venom crossover here we come! You know THAT's going to happen for sure, now... The problem is who cares at this point? Venom in the Sony movie has NO connection to Spiderman, and even Carnage doesn't generate any excitement for me since he will be just a red/black CGI rehash of Riot.

I see people blaming Sony for this. What’s up with that? Let’s say the film makes 800m and Sony spend 200m on the film itself and then 100m on the marketing. Theatres take 50% of the earnings and then Disney takes 25% plus merchandise sales (Spider-Man toys apparently made 1.3 billion in 2013 and it’s no doubt gone up since then) Disney is who should be blamed. They probably made more money from toys than Sony made from the films, and they still wanted more You realise Disney were wanting to co-finance the films meaning they put in the same money as Sony hence why they would receive half the revenue, they didn't simply demand hundreds of millions of dollars for nothing.

Dude, with how well these two characters have done recently on their own, a team up is a sure-fire hit.
Plus, technically, the symbiotes already existed at the beginning of the Venom movie... so who's to say they wont do a flashback retcon where they're somehow connected to Spidey? Sounds awful but it would solve the problem.

Have it that Venom is captured and separated. Peter goes in and the symbiote attaches to him. The symbiote loves the extra power that Peter can feed to him. Eddie hates on Spider-man for stealing the symbiote. Later the symbiote hates on Peter for abandoning him. Have it that Peter has the Venom suit a short time so you can get it back to Eddie, but make it long enough that the symbiote hungers for Peter.

I have read nothing but desperate news from all these sites. We don't know what is true anymore. Seems like everyone out there running entertainment sites are desperate for this deal not to end, all seem blindly pro-Marvel, painting them as the victim when they are not.

1) Have the first 3rd of movie be Peter Parker joins with the symbiote and then then they split. 2) 2nd third off the movie deals with the symbiotes multiplying and getting caught by the company. 3) 3rd part of the movie has Eddie and Peter meet, the symbiote freaks out causing them to fight, and then they team up to beat up some villain.
It writes itself.

The article I posted isn't painting anyone as a victim, just reporting the previous deal fell apart and rumoring a new one may be in the works. Not sure what kind of reaction you wanted out of me, but if it's 'any reaction will do,' here you go.

Kind of works in that it explains why he isn't in the MCU anymore he's either in hiding or doing time for the "murder" if Mysterio, and probably the only way to write him out of the MCU Sony would allow as they have final say, not like they would let Marvel kill off Spidey or anything, but it leaves it open if Disney can renew their deal to keep Spidey active in the MCU either way.
But yeah it is spin as didn't they still have 2 more films under their current agreement, if this was their "planned" ending it means Disney were always intending to end the deal early which is dodgy as fuck on their part.

Now that I think about it, why would he even need to be in hiding? Shouldn’t SHIELD be able to easily prove that the video is a lie?

Disney and Sony obviously weren't intending to end the deal with FFH. Now that they're terminating the agreement prematurely, it's a convenient lie meant to mitigate the loss of Spider-Man. Sony can still address the cliff-hanger any way they see fit (without any mention of Nick, Happy, Maria, or Tony). It just won't be canonical to the MCU. Their ending will take place in the multiverse (of madness). MCU purists likely won't accept it as canon to the overall saga.

Well that would be more of an issue of whose tech is better, Mysterios at faking the footage or the good guys at debunking it, but yeah if they would have continued on my guess is that the footage would be easily debunked but just be the basis of JJ and his fans crackpot hate theories about Spidey.

Are they ending it early or just restructuring it now Feige is "Too Busy" for Spidey? Like they cant actually do that can they? Disney owes Sony 2 more films right? Though without Kevin at the helm they may not want to stick with Disney incase they are all salty and shit.
Anyone considered what if Marvel can pull MJ from the Spidey films, she isn't Mary Jane after all, so is she a new creation? if so can Marvel block her being used without the MCU involvement? Be funny to see Michelle pop up in multiple comics to establish her as a "Marvel" character and not a Spidey character towards that end.

The deal is over as of now. Without a last-minute compromise, Spider-Man 3 will not be set in the MCU and won't feature any Disney-created characters. As far as I can tell, no one owes anyone anything in this arrangement. Disney and Sony never planned this far ahead, which is shortsighted on both their parts. Sony is going to make Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland that disregard the MCU world-building previously established in the last two films. Remember that time Peter went to Germany to help Tony Stark fight the Secret Avengers in Civil War? No? That's okay, in Spider-Man 3 neither will he. Get the picture? Mary Jane is a part of Spider-Man's retinue. Sony can use her regardless of how she is referred to and who plays her. Sony has complete dominion over the character in the cinematic context. Miles Morales was created after Marvel and Sony made their initial deal. In fact, some conjecture that the character exists because Marvel tried to create a workaround of the ironclad Sony/Spider-Man film license. Guess what? Because Miles goes by the name Spider-Man, Sony owns his film rights too.
