They were talking about it on the radio again the other day and apparently MLB is looking to add two more teams at some point over the next couple of years. What cities?
Montreal I think will get one of if they can get a park. They want to do one in the east and one in the west. So either Portland or Vancouver.
But at no point do you ever see San Antonio getting any press about getting a team. SA is the fastest growing city in the US and in the top ten in size. How come they don't have a baseball team?

I'd love to see Vancouver get one, but I don't know how well that would work.

I always think the same thing about San Antonio. It's a huge (and growing) metropolitan area along with Austin, which is only an hour away. The population of that area could easily sustain a pro team.

Although, if you stuck a stadium in New Braunfels, halfway between Austin and San Antonio, it would be a trek from both cities (weekday traffic is horrible, as well). That's fine for the NFL, though, but Jerry Jones doesn't want more competition.

I think Detroit deserve a MLB team.

Montreal needs a new stadium so expansion there is years away at best. I doubt Vancouver would be granted a franchise as Seattle wouldn't allow it.

I'm all for expansion - make the game Global - Mexico, Central America, Japan, etc -
Current product is dull.
Need to spice things up a bit. I'd tune in for Yanks vs. Japan, BoSox vs. Taiwan, Dodgers vs. Cuba...
You cut off around 30 games or so to account for travel time.

Teams that routinely lose 120-130 games a year, that would spice up the game And there's no way that MLB owner will cut 15+ home dates a year.

Could have profit sharing amongst all the teams to account for lost revenue at the gate, tv ratings, etc. And the owners don't / won't have any say in this - it's to benefit the game in the long run by bringing a bigger interest in the game (and MLB as a whole) - expand the game culturally.

Good luck selling that
