A Slinky, these things seriously suck how much fun can you have with them? and they usually just end up rolling down the stairs.

Etch A Sketch.
Yeah, you can find all kinds of works of 'art' supposedly created with the device, but Catman doesn't believe it.

The "Super Ball"... anybody remember those? They were a little bigger than a golf ball, smaller than a tennis ball... they were made out of some sort of super-elastic synthetic rubber that made them bounce like crazy. They were kind of a cool novelty, but the problem was, you could easily bounce them so far away from you that it was quite easy to lose them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Ball

I never played with it as a kid, and I don't recall any of my friends even having this game--but I've heard that the "Mousetrap" game was one of the least fun board games of all time. For anyone who had this game--was this fun to play, or tedious to set up?

For anyone who had this game--was this fun to play, or tedious to set up? I did not own this game but I had a couple friends who did and nobody played it cuz it was too annoying to set up. I remember even getting excited when I saw it and I was like oh we should play that and they're like no it sucks it takes forever to set up.

Many of these toys strike Catman as the sort of thing a desperate grandparent buys as a present for a grandchild when the grandparent knows nothing about what said grandchild would like.

LOL I came here to say Slinky! yes they sucked. I think Stretch Armstrong wasn't as stretchy as the commercials showed. They would also break and I think the goo inside is toxic.

Anything made of that sticky substance, like that swatter thing with the hand at the end of it. It would just pick up and accumulate dust and fluff and lint.

As a kid, I thought this stuff was pretty cool, but as a parent, I hate this stuff.

Actually, they made smaller ones too... I had several that were about the size of a quarter... I liked taking mine into narrow (The narrower the better) hallways and throwing them "sideways" so that they would bounce several times back and forth between the walls... Small enclosed spaces worked best... When I think about how the first few bounces of the ball would go.... It reminds me a lot of that game "JezzBall" for Windows 95.
