Yes.
Technically, you can blame anyone. In this case, it was actually his fault.

Yes. Technically, you can blame anyone. In this case, it was actually his fault. To be fair, you can see someone on the Michigan bench (directly in his line of vision) motioning above their heads for a timeout as he brings the ball up the floor. Not saying it was their fault, but Webber definitely wasn't the only one who didn't know the situation at the time.

Webber almost called a TO when he got the rebound. You can see him moving his hands, then he sees UNC backing off. And the play never should have happened because he traveled on his way downcourt. I still remember Billy Packer screaming "Oh, he walked!" But he was in the corner and would have turned it over anyway. Biggest question for me, why was Chris Webber handling the ball? Where the hell was Jalen Rose or Jimmy King? You don't have your center handling the ball in that situation

Sure I can blame him, easy.
You've got to know the situation if you're in the game, you have to know whether or not you have a timeout left.
Of course the coaching staff should have made sure every player understood that.

Sure I can blame him, easy. You've got to know the situation if you're in the game, you have to know whether or not you have a timeout left. Of course the coaching staff should have made sure every player understood that. The whole situation was a mess and Steve Fisher was to blame also. You have to have a time out saved. I'm sure the players were told about the TO situation but it still shouldn't have been Webber bringing the ball upcourt. Rose or Jackson should have come back for the ball and Webber should have been looking to get it to one or the other. Instead there was a mad rush down to catch Carolina napping and that wasn't going to happen. Rose did come back but was guarded. Webber knew he shouldn't have been with the ball, he was going to call a TO, caught himself and then seen someone signalling to call one. After he started moving. And he had to have known he traveled. He wondering where the guards are, looking an the UNC defense, sees a Michigan player signalling for a timeout. A lot to process. If Fisher, not the greatest on court tactician, had saved a timeout, Michigan might have won. Never watched a game where I wanted to see BOTH teams lose so bad ever.
