They killed off Iron Man. Aged out Captain America. Now they've lost Spider-Man. Probably the three most popular MCU characters right now they've gone and lost.
Also Black Widow too, she may have that one last movie in her.
I know they're bringing in new characters like Shang Chi and Blade but they're no Spider-Man. I bet Thor hasn't got much left in him either.
They could do with getting the X-Men and Fantastic Four worked on fast.
Shame about Spider-Man though, he had a lot potential as a overall story arc.

Here’s what I don’t get; from what I can tell, Sony and Disney have been at odds for a while, and there were always concerns that FFH would be the last film that Sony and Marvel would collaborate on (Amy Pascal even suggested as much back in 2017). With that in mind, why in the world did Marvel decide to end FFH on such a massive cliffhanger? What were they thinking? Were they that confident that the deal would extend for another film?

Thor will be with Guardians of the Galaxy which is about the only thing I'm looking forward to. I have no desire to see anything else after Endgame.

Question 1: Hubris. Question 2: yes. I guess they didn’t expect Sony to cut their own nose off.

Well Black Panther and Captain Marvel are billion dollar franchises so far so I think they’ll be good with at least them for a while.
But yeah this Spider-Man news hurts.
Also, Tom Holland is only signed on for one more film. If he really liked working within the MCU and doesn’t care to be in business with just Sony he could very easily bail after his next contractually obligated Spider-Man movie.
That means Sony is either recasting or already rebooting Spidey in the next 3-5 years.

They still have more than enough characters to be the most successful franchise in the world.

They still have more than enough characters to be the most successful franchise in the world. They do but those three characters in particular have been a big part of their success. They are Marvel's three most popular characters right now and they've just lost all three. There's other that are popular but I don't know if they'd drive the franchise in the same way.

They never did Spiderman right. Iron Man needed a personal movie like Logan to wrap his story up if Disney can allow that but they can't. I got sick of him in the Avenges movies and his suits, RDJ is talented enough to deserve a masterpiece stripped down movie as Hugh Jackman got with Logan but we know Disney won't allow it.
Captain America is still around since we have 50s steve. Disney should just stop messing up this marvel characters.

I hope it’s not Minette though. Nothing against him I just don’t think he’s right for the character. But I really don’t want to see another reboot or recasting. If Tom Holland is done I think I’d be done with Spider-Man for quite awhile. Unless of course they made a Sam Raimi sequel....

I suppose Black Panther will be the next alpha leader of the MCU.
Sony is going to suffer from this self inflicted bs.
