I think this band has a strong adolescent feel about it.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't listen much to it anymore.
I think "God of Thunder" might be the band's best song.

What I like about KISS is they managed to spread their talent out across decades of massive consumption. Hot band. They say Ace Frehley's guitar technique is all wrong but sounds all right. He's a night owl with energy to burn.

In 1976 there was a bit of a Kiss-mania going on. I wasn't much of a fan, but a few of my friends were, I promised a friend that if they performed nearby, I would take her to the show. So a few months later it happened. There was no reserved seating and the place was packed. We sat behind and above the stage. Their music was simple, but their sound system was excellent. Plus they put on a great show with Gene Simmons doing his trademark spitting of blood and fire. I was unexpectedly impressed.
The funny part was the opening act. It was two guys with acoustic guitars and a woman sitting on barstools and singing some kind of folk music. The audience quickly grew restless and began to boo while throwing things on stage. Finally one of the guys stood up and said "Well, if that's how you feel about it, we're just gonna leave!" As they walked off, the fans began cheering and raising hell.
I later believed it was all a gimmick because nobody would seriously book a group like that to open a Rock show. It did the job because it got the fans all fired up. Simmons is an astute showman and businessman. He has made a fortune off Kiss products and he married Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed who is quite a shrewd entrepreneur herself. .
The only album I ever bought was Alive (1975) despite controversy about studio editing. It has most of their early good songs and sounds much like the concert I saw. That album was highly successful.

My uncle was a massive Kiss fan when i was a kid just discovering music so Kiss was my introduction to rock music and i loved them. I've followed them and been a fan ever since mainly due to the nostalgia and ten of their tracks feature in my all time favourite list:
Kiss – Black Diamond – Kiss – 1974 Kiss – Beth – Destroyer – 1976 Kiss – Love Gun – Love Gun – 1977 Kiss – Detroit Rock City – Double Platinum – 1978 Kiss – Tears Are Falling – Asylum – 1985 Kiss - I'll Fight Hell To Hold You – Crazy Nights – 1987 Kiss - Reason To Live – Crazy Nights – 1987 Kiss – Forever – Hot In The Shade – 1989 Kiss – Psycho Circus – Psycho Circus – 1998 Kiss – Dreamin’ – Psycho Circus – 1998

A couple of good tracks, but along with Cheap Trick and Peter Frampton they are an act whose massive Stateside success puzzles me.

Why did you edit your thread title/post to make it sound even more retarded?

If you grew up in the suburbs in the 70's you had to like KISS. It was law. Not my favorite band but there were worse.
I remember how hot and bothered the KISS Army people got when the four solo albums came out. "Four albums. WOOOOOO". Four albums and one good song, Frehley's remake of "New York Groove". Then you had the "Disco KISS" of "I Was Made For Loving You" and shit like that. It was fun to watch the fans tear themselves apart. "Naw, that wasn't Disco." "Hey, Gene's album had some good songs." but they survived.
