The only ones I've seen at a cinema are James Cameron's Aliens and The Abyss.
Come to think of it, I've also seen David Lynch's The Elephant Man and Dune at some pre-premiere events that a journalist friend I used to know fixed for me.

The only reason I was joking with you is because you said David Fincher is your favorite director. I saw Avatar at the cinema twice btw.

Eh, your loss. 2001 and Apocalypse Now are totally different experiences in a theater. Titanic is definitely worth seeing in one as well (between the original run and the rerelease, I saw it 4 times). The Social Network is what solidified him as my favorite director, and I've seen everything he's done in the theater since. Unfortunately, he's been stuck between projects for the last five years. 4 is a lot for me either way. The only ones I've seen more of are Ridley Scott (5) and Nolan (7).

We have Ridley Scott in common in that I have seen a ton of his movies at the cinema. Every movie he has directed since Gladiator, except for A Good Year. I have seen every Christopher Nolan movie at the cinema since Insomnia and half of them twice or more at the cinema. Steven Spielberg is the winner. Hook Jurassic Park The Lost World: Jurassic Park Minority Report (twice) The Terminal War of the Worlds Munich Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Lincoln The Post Bridge of Spies The BFG Ready Player One And you'll love this. I went to see War Horse at the cinema, was so disappointed with the first half that I walked out and walked into The Adventures of Tin Tin, which started 15 minutes before I walked out of War Horse.

That's a lot of Scott loyalty. I wouldn't have gone to Robin Hood for free. Speaking of rereleases and Scott, I'm planning to see Alien in October. Same here with Nolan, except for The Prestige. Spielberg is part of my 4 club (the first two JPs, Lincoln, Ready Player One). I bootlegged War Horse and fell asleep.
