I really think that the Hate and Disrespect that the Movie "STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS" gets is just Terrible, Shameful, Disgraceful and really uncalled for now.
Now I completely understand that everybody has the right to their own feelings and opinions towards anything and everything but sometimes there comes a time when the Hate and Disrespect towards something just goes too far and needs to be called out and I think that the Hate and Disrespect towards "THE FORCE AWAKENS" is 1 of those times.
I think that is a Great and Fun "STAR WARS" Movie and definitely 1 of the Best in the Franchise.
What does everybody else here think ?

You are confusing dislike with hate. Sure, there are some people who hate the movie and won't shut up about it, but most people who don't like the movie just think it is mediocre. Now if there is such a thing as people being annoying in their hatred of the movie, there are people like you who are annoying in their love of the movie. I personally think the hate that the prequels and The Last Jedi receive is ridiculous. "You are confusing dislike with hate." --------------------------------------------- Well, I have actually seen a lot of Videos on YOUTUBE from YOUTUBERS that have Hundreds of Subscribers and they along with their Subscribers have called the Movie disrespectful insults like trash, garbage, and that it ruined the franchise and to me.....that kind of disrespect counts more as Hate than Dislike.

It was a bit pandering. All the way to the X-Wings, which are space craft, not for ground assaults. But since they sell the most toys & Legos, guess what.

There is no reason to respect a movie you think is garbage and calling a movie garbage that you think is garbage is just being honest.

TFA was more entertaining than the boring prequels, but it wasn't very good. Unfortunately The Last Jedi was very very poor......in fact I don't see how this franchise has much future.

There is nothing wrong with people not liking, or even hating, a film.
Except Jaws, of course.

Well, I don't think anyone who hates the movie is gonna reexamine anything because you called them shameful and posted 38 gifs with no context.
In any case, who needs a TFA defense thread when TLJ is lying in the corner being raped and murdered?

In any case, who needs a TFA defense thread when TLJ is lying in the corner being raped and murdered? I think it will likely have the exact opposite effect.

"You are confusing dislike with hate." There is no reason to respect a movie you think is garbage and calling a movie garbage that you think is garbage is just being honest. And this is a perfect example of what the OP is trying to point out... Too many people out there, think that so many movies are "Garbage", and it tends to be the first words out of their mouth... When I watch movies, I try to find something,.. The cinematography, the Special Effects, The Score, The Soundtrack, The sets, The Acting, The costumes, ETC... anything, and then I try to focus on those things, and talk about those things as much as possible... But, for some unknown weird reasons, "THE FORCE AWAKENS", didn't make most fans happy... and so, for them, the whole film, becomes "garbage" in their minds... And not just Garbage, as in, "They didn't like it"... But it is pure "hate"... Look at your own comment for Christ's sake... Three usages of that same word: Garbage, Garbage, & Garbage... & Not ONE nice thing to say about the film at all. Yep, comments like that, clearly spell out "HATE", and that is how many people will interpret it! As pointed out, people are entitled to their views and opinions... But instead of starting off with a negative discussion about what you don't like... Try focusing on what you did like and leave out the negatives as much as possible. I am sure most of us, would enjoy having at least one Star Wars discussion, these days, that isn't all about bashing the prequels, and the sequels.

I wouldn't completely disagree. It's not going to stimulate anyone intellectually but it will emotionally. I think Ebert called it a brilliant bubblegum film.
I rarely watch films for their intellectual value. It's nice to have but films for me are about entertainment, pure escapist fun.
Jaws is such a simple story but it is so well made and acted it rises to a level I doubt anyone would have suspected. The novel doesn't really begin to elicit the same kinds of emotions as the film.
I have tried watching so many films trying to emulate Jaws, just to capture that initial thrill, and none have succeeded. The most hilarious was Grizzly, the most entertaining was the sequel Jaws 2, the best 'modern' film Deep Blue Sea, the most disappointing has to be Lake Placid. The original Piranha wasn't half bad.
There is something so primal Jaws tapped into, man vs nature, to the death, and that's basically all it was. You toss in Spielberg, Scheider, Dreyfuss, Shaw and John Williams, at or close to the height of their artistic greatness, you end up with an all time classic. Even with a shark that was barely working.

I like the film, but I do have some criticisms here and there. Fun and entertaining for sure, but also very safe and familiar.

I do agree with you though when it comes to the movie "JAWS", Anybody who hates that Movie is Coo-Coo for Co-Co Puffs!

I really liked Rey... A fresh, interesting character.
But much of the movie is just really stupid.
Still, it’s better than two of the prequels, as well as RETURN OF THE JEDI.

I don't think The Force Awakens is garbage and I am going to assume that when some people on Youtube or wherever who hate the movie, do give it credit where they think credit is do. If I were to review a movie I hate, I would start with saying I hate it and then explain why I hate it. There are movies I consider to be awful that I do think have certain aspects that aren't awful and I give them credit in areas where I think they deserve credit. The problem is that the terrible stuff completely overwhelms the stuff in the movie that isn't terrible.
