People are free to hate or like whatever movie they want, i don`t see a problem with people hating Force Awakens.
Personally i liked it, not a great movie but it was ok.

It was loved at the time, I think the hate is retroactive after the last Jedi took a big steaming dump on all the mysteries the force awakens set up rendering it neutered

Well, I don't think anyone who hates the movie is gonna reexamine anything because you called them shameful and posted 38 gifs with no context. In any case, who needs a TFA defense thread when TLJ is lying in the corner being raped and murdered? "TLJ is lying in the corner being raped and murdered?" ------------------------------ Oh, More Than That!
Ever since it first came out, it has basically been just Absolutely Destroyed!

I actually enjoyed quite a bit of TFA, but it matters little now, because TLJ eliminated most of the mysteries set up in the first film and made me care very little for the new primary cast. I don't hate it, but it's a pointless film outside of introducing the new characters. Maybe IX will make me change my mind. I am still keeping an open mind even after the debacle that was TLJ.

I wouldn't completely disagree. It's not going to stimulate anyone intellectually but it will emotionally. I think Ebert called it a brilliant bubblegum film.
I rarely watch films for their intellectual value. It's nice to have but films for me are about entertainment, pure escapist fun.
Jaws is such a simple story but it is so well made and acted it rises to a level I doubt anyone would have suspected. The novel doesn't really begin to elicit the same kinds of emotions as the film.
I have tried watching so many films trying to emulate Jaws, just to capture that initial thrill, and none have succeeded. The most hilarious was Grizzly, the most entertaining was the sequel Jaws 2, the best 'modern' film Deep Blue Sea, the most disappointing has to be Lake Placid. The original Piranha wasn't half bad.
There is something so primal Jaws tapped into, man vs nature, to the death, and that's basically all it was. You toss in Spielberg, Scheider, Dreyfuss, Shaw and John Williams, at or close to the height of their artistic greatness, you end up with an all time classic. Even with a shark that was barely working.
Kennedy had no instincts when Jaws came out and she doesn't have the right instincts now for her current job.

I am glad though that JJ Abrams is back at the helm (and with help from both Chris Terrio and George Lucas) for "THE RISE OF SKYWALKER".

I really think that the Hate and Disrespect that the Movie "STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS" gets is just Terrible...
I don't hate TFA at all. Was it re-hashy? Sure. But for all that it also introduced a lot of new characters and scenarios that could have been built upon very successfully.
TLJ was also not a bad movie, it just didn't give us what we wanted as fans, and it didn't follow up on anything TFA set up.
Because of those reasons everyone says it sucks, but its actually a pretty good and watchable movie. It just didn't deliver what we wanted, which was: A Luke that kicked some ass, and Rey Finn and Poe doing some cool shit. That's all TLJ had to do and it could have been a masterpiece. Instead whenever he had the chance to do something cool Rian Johnson chose to zig instead of zag.
Expand on Snoke? Nope, kill him instead. Expand on Phasma: Nope, kill her too. Luke comes back to kick some butt: Nope, kill him too! But make him curmudgeonly first. Knight of Ren? Nope. Luke trains Rey? kinda, but not really, I guess, I dunno... Give Finn something cool to do? Well, he got to ride a horse with a rodents face, I guess. He did get a kiss after Rey friendzoned him, so that's something... Take the opportunity to end Leia (since fisher has passed away) instead of killing Luke (since Hamill is still alive)? Nah. At least Poe was a pro-active character... even though it didn't amount to much.
All of the above may be true, but at least we got a great performance from Hamill and some great set design and cool action scenes.
Lets just hope TROS gives us a good ending. I have high hopes.

What hate? At worst people are indifferent to TFA, but overall I thought this movie got more positive reception than negative.

A lot of the Negativity and Disrespect towards it I have seen in a lot of videos from Star Wars Fans who posted reviews and reaction videos on YOUTUBE. I think it's mostly retconned hate with TFA. Back when TFA came out, my rough guess is 10% - 15% of the fanbase disliked/hated it. I'm judging by forum responses (old IMDb and others), social media comments, critics, YouTube videos. TLJ; my rough guess is 40% (+\- 5%) dislike/hate it. And some of those 40 % have gone back and re-examined their opinion of TFA after being jaded over TLJ.

It gets criticised for things it did wrong, praised for the things it did right, and just otherwise praised or criticised based on personal opinions, deal with it, just because you like it doesn't make it good, it's attitudes like that which are terrible.
Also not everyone who criticises aspects of the movie actually hate the movie, I find it a fun enough movie but it has huge issues imo, which I am within my right to point out and discuss with people, you want to try and shame me for thinking this way then you can go spin on it mate.
Edit: BTW some peoples hate for the film is terrible, but that's for anything these days, people tend to go from he is Jesus thy lord walks upon the water itself, to he the devil, kill him, kill him with fire and stick his pitchfork up his arse, that sort of hate I agree is terrible, but then so is that sort of praise, it's a fucking movie for shits sake.

Rian Johnson is like Schindler's List with Episode 8: "If I had only shot one more page...I could have gotten rid of the Knights of Ren. One more line of dialogue and I could have had Leia pass away in her sleep. This watch could have gotten me several more minutes on set to figure out how to get rid of the Droids...I almost got all the OT and ST characters! Almost..."
