They must have been horny when they wrote their reviews.

Perhaps, I thought this was PG13 but it's actually R. Maybe we see something more than sideboob after all.

And yet it's got a 4.9 on IMDb. I guess people don't like strippers anymore.

And yet it's got a 4.9 on IMDb. I guess people don't like strippers anymore. Critic reviews donβt really mean much anymore. Tbh I think it goes both ways. In the last few years both critics and audiences have become waaay to political & fandom-based when it comes to movies. I don't say critics & audience ratings mean nothing, but the high regard I held critic and audience ratings in has certainly dropped a bit. Besides your own opinion (which should always be the most important one for yourself), I'd say a personal selection of critics and audience members/friends that have a similar taste in movies is by far the best way to get an idea of what you'd think of the movie. I follow about 80 people on Letterboxd that I generally agree with and I trust them more than any of those aggregator sites (both by critics and audiences). I'm not a big fan of basing quality on aggregator sites like Rotten Tomatoes anyways, since (unless I go through the whole list) I have no idea exactly who has written those reviews. It's a good place to get an overview of critical reviews and to sort of get a critics consensus, but it's in no way the definitive or objective truth as some people on this forum sometimes state. Metacritic is also not the optimal product, but it's far better than RT imo since its selection criteria for critics is a lot stricter and because it's also easier to navigate since there are less reviews. And it doesn't have that stupid RT % method, which could mean a movie has 100% on RT while people only mildly enjoyed it (like a 6/10).
