Hey, thanks. I'll check this out. I remember a rumor that JJ hated BB-8. And that the droid was all Disney's idea. Not sure if it's true or not though. It's not: When it came time to create a new astromech droid for the first film of a new Star Wars trilogy, director J.J. Abrams started as anyone might: he made a sketch on a napkin. It’s a fitting beginning, considering the handmade, warm look and feel of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The sketch was basic — two circles atop one another, with a tiny dot for an eye — but the core concept was there. And it was powerful enough to get the proverbial ball rolling for Lucasfilm concept designer Christian Alzmann.
“J.J. wanted something rolling on a sphere, so I tried a lot of different designs developing that idea,” Alzmann says. “He would give direction on the kinds of shapes to use, and that led to a personality for the droid. Of course, the original sketch had very pleasing, round shapes, so you kind of figured it wasn’t going to be a very serious or angry character. Ultimately, BB-8 developed out of a back-and-forth process with J.J. where he gave feedback on each iteration of the design.”

Eh. I have mixed feelings about it. It's nice to see Rey train and look badass, but I didn't like how the only shot of Finn showed him in a coma. Lame. Reminds me of The Force Awaken's teaser when Finn was only showed panicky, out of breath and on the run. Everyone else got to look cool. Same in this teaser. True. He got very little time in the trailer. It's silly that Disney is trying to make us worry that Finn isn't going to heal/make it. Rian Johnson even showed some pictures he took on set and Finn is in one of them (up and walking fine). I will say he got more time in the trailer than Benicio Del Toro, Domhnall Gleeson, and Snoke. It's not how little time Finn got. It's that he wasn't even conscious. This is supposed to be a teaser. How can they tease us with something we've already seen? Agreed. It's obvious Finn's going to wake up. He's even going to spend time with Rose. (What about Poe?)

I have a bad feeling about the last jedi That's actually a big deal, coming from furiousstyles77; he's traditionally a hard-liner, pro Disney guy going all the way back to the IMDb boards, isn't he?

it was underwhelming, no where near the excitement created by TFA, me thinks this might not be as good, I hope it is , but I have a bad feeling about the last jedi Don't worry! Captain Tarpals has a strong feeling dat all da Rey & Luke training stuff will all be rehashed from TESB! Lifting rocks, lifting ships, visions, and everything else Luke did Rey will do! It should all be dere! And it will probably stretch over half da movie like in TESB. And one trailer scene shows da Millennium Falcon flying round shootin down TIE fighters. Maybe da Falcon will fly through an asteroid field! Another scene looks like there are Imperial Walkers on da north ridge (just like in TESB), only dis time it's in a desert not a snowfield. Meesa don't know if yousen can handle dat drastic snow/desert change. But should be plenty of nostalgic rehash to satisfy yousen addiction!! Okee day!?!

Rey will get her Disney magic powers of TFA back once she finishes her training! And maybe Phasma will be following Rey in da Millennium Falcon da way Boba Fett followed Han in TESB. Maybe even Kylo will confront Rey and say "Han never told you who your family is, did he?" And then Rey will say something spiteful. And then Kylo will say "No! I am your family!" Then Rey will scream "Nooooooooooo!!!" Besides, dis is da first trailer. Da next one might have a swamp planet and a levitating "cloud" city! Lotsa fan service potential yet to come. To meme Jyn from RO "Nostalgic addictions are built on hope!"

You are in a minority , the force awakens and rogue one are better much better than the prequels, 2 billion and high ratings makes this a fact Vintage! I am marking out a little bit, I'm not gonna lie. I mean: NO, TFA IS BAD I PREFER THE OTHER SET OF FILMS!!!1

Definitely liked this teaser. It looks like the first order are going to attack the fucking resistance Base!!!! This is going to be a hell of a cinemtic experience. The Force Awakens alone proves this.

Its worth noting though that the rolling sphere was actually the original McQuarrie design for R2 so JJ doesn't deserve full credit.

Its interesting to see how much mirroring of ESB they are going for. Another big walker battle and Rey having some sort of a vision quest in a cave. I still think, with Rian Johnson at the helm, the finished film will not lack for originality. I just hope Johnson's originality isn't the "WTF was he thinking?" variety. Mark Hamill said he fundamentally disagreed with the direction Rian went with Luke.
