Hate to say it, but this one sucks has much as the Zombie versions. I just had a gut feeling by first viewing the trailer. I was not going to be scare or entertain like the first three Halloweens.

I liked it. Sure it may not hold up as well on repeat viewings but I think it did its job fine. Better than the Zombie movies, and II and III, IMO.

Yeah, not really a fan. Thought it was okay at the cinema, but upon rewatch i thought even less of it. I actually prefer the Rob Zombie films over it.

It's not an incompetently made film. But very bland.

I strongly disliked it. I thought it was as bad as 5 and 6 but didn't quite reach the depths of Zombie's utterly lamentable contributions to the series.

I liked it a lot. The one tracking shot of Michael back in Haddonfield stalking the neighborhood like a shark at a beach full of unsuspecting swimmers was fantastic. Most of the kills were cool and the story was mostly capable.

IN BAGGY ASS OVERALLS. ---- I didn't love this movie either, especially on a rewatch where I actually turned it off because I was bored. Not especially excited to see the Pineapple Express guys do a sequel, on that note. Let another team take a crack at it. I don't need whacky improv comedy in my Halloween movies.

Looking back at it now...it was okay. It has to be difficult to capture those intense and frightening moments that you have in the original Halloween and Halloween 2 for that matter. None of the Halloween movies have done that for me post Halloween 2.

None of the Halloween movies have done that for me post Halloween 2. I don't have any particular love for Halloween 2, but I was sort of expecting the shooting style to be a bit more patient and deliberate than it was in the new one. There was a deleted scene where Laurie's granddaughter was jogging, came upon a dog hanging from a tree, and saw Michael standing by the car staring at her from a distance in a long shot. I didn't love the dog thing, but the long shot of Michael was very Carpenter-esque and I wanted more of that.

Part of it for me was the lack of stakes that just didn't make it feel urgent for the character in situations that requires it (part of it I think was McBride's humor as well), especially between Michael and Laurie. Michael doesn't even begin to hunt her till the doctor brought him to her place. I think in retrospect, Carpenter thought having Michael and Laurie related defeated the purpose of Michael's character of being evil, but in hindsight, I think it's even more evil though to want to kill your own family and there's a connective tissue to drive the story and it gives it stakes and urgency. Halloween 4 is still one of my favorite, and everything with Michael chasing Jamie works really well and you feel the urgency and Jamies's plight. Just watching a random killer is a bit uninteresting.

I still enjoy it because of it's intensity and there are some genuinely creepy scenes in it. That chase scene between Michael and Laurie in the basement of that hospital still gets me on the edge of my seat when I watch it. If they could take moments like that and incorporate them into the newer movies, I'd probably appreciate them a little more.

I liked it kinda, but only to a point. There's some good stuff in there, but there's also some pretty silly stuff. The worst offender is the Doctor who suddenly wants to be Michael, which is just daft. I'd rate it maybe a 6, with pretensions of being a 7.

Pop Actor, you know what? YOU suck. You're so basic, and you can't formulate a good discussion to save your life. Please elaborate as to why you think the movie sucks, or stop shilling your trolly opinions. This movie was miles above RZ's misinterpretations. It's the best sequel we'll ever get, even above the original Halloween 2 (which is still pretty damn awesome).
Don't mind my hostility. I just wish you'd have more to say in your topics than a couple of sentences.

None of the Halloween movies have done that for me post Halloween 2. The reality we face is if they make a movie with the suspense of Halloween today's youth will complain that its boring. They expect constant action, and would never put up with something like the original Halloween, and sadly, those are the people the writers have in mind.

None of the Halloween movies have done that for me post Halloween 2. I still like it for what it was. There are things I like about it, and things I don't. It definitely had it's share of problems. I think people that are going into it expecting it to be like the original are setting themselves up for disappointment.
