Pop Actor, you know what? YOU suck. You're so basic, and you can't formulate a good discussion to save your life. Please elaborate as to why you think the movie sucks, or stop shilling your trolly opinions. This movie was miles above RZ's misinterpretations. It's the best sequel we'll ever get, even above the original Halloween 2 (which is still pretty damn awesome). Don't mind my hostility. I just wish you'd have more to say in your topics than a couple of sentences. Life must really suck for you, taking the time to reply to a poster that you think that sucks... What sucks even more, is your lack of respect & I don’t even know who you are. This is a friendly board. Don't like my thread. Do not participate, simple as that. Always remember...Don't be a sucker!

Actually I'm liking the direction that the new Trilogy taking. One of my complaints about 2018 is there should have been more characters from the original to catch up with and I didn't care for the twist of Dr Satine, however, the upcoming sequels is shaping up to be a trilogy of movies set on the same night making a supersized sequel on the 40th Anniversary of the night he came home.

There's no reason they couldn't have had Halloween Kills out by this Halloween. Kind of pisses me off.

The story I'd heard was that an earlier version that didn't test well showed Laurie drinking and watching Michael being moved to the bus and making some sort of move to attack him or something that lead to his escape. They did away with that because test audiences didn't like Laurie being the cause of Michael's escape, so they had to come up with some other reason that he could have escaped, so they decided on making the 'new Loomis' actually a villain. It was a terrible idea, and Laurie being responsible for Michael's escape actually is a good and evocative idea that would have been an interesting direction to take things.

Looking back at it now...it was okay. It has to be difficult to capture those intense and frightening moments that you have in the original Halloween and Halloween 2 for that matter. None of the Halloween movies have done that for me post Halloween 2. I don't have any particular love for Halloween 2, but I was sort of expecting the shooting style to be a bit more patient and deliberate than it was in the new one. There was a deleted scene where Laurie's granddaughter was jogging, came upon a dog hanging from a tree, and saw Michael standing by the car staring at her from a distance in a long shot. I didn't love the dog thing, but the long shot of Michael was very Carpenter-esque and I wanted more of that. That is exactly what I was talking about. Yeah maybe leave the dog out...but having Michael stalk a few people of Laurie's family or hell anyone.....seeing him watch them at a distance...it would have made all the difference in the world for the movie. That's why I love the original so much...it's that slow burn until night time...and every scene leading up to it is just a creepy nightmare! Love that movie so much!

I'm glad that they're taking more time to develop the sequels because the last time they rushed out a sequel to be released a year after the previous installment was Halloween 5 and we all know how that turned out.

When the Sartain twist happened I nearly got up and walked out. I was thinking it was going to be another Thorn scenario. The producers of H18 stated that there would be scenes and/or easter eggs that payed homage to every Halloween sequel , one example being the murders at the gas station being a homage to H4 and the bathroom stall murder being a homage to H20. Perhaps the Sartain twist was a homage to the Wynn twist in H6. I would have preferred a simple head exploding kill instead if they really felt the need to pay homage to that movie. The next sequel, Halloween Kills is shaping up to be a remixed/re-imaging of both H2 and H4 in one movie with Laurie being drugged up and sidelined in Haddonfield Memorial hospital with only semi retired and hospital security guard Leigh Bracket to protect her while the people in the town that's been previously affected by Myers' previous killings form an armed vigilant lynch mob.

I think having Laurie be responsible is much better than having his Dr be the cause of the escape.
