My roommates are always bringing in sweets (candies, pastries) and they're hard to pass up while I'm trying to maintain my diet. Cinnamon rolls in particular are pretty much impossible to say no to. I never realized I liked them so much.

To be honest - wine. Although, it's not really problematic, because I don't try to avoid it. In fact, it's almost 4:00, here, now. What I have opened is a Raymond red field-blend. I'm starting to explore red blends. They may not be very sophisticated, to some, but have found a few that are very smooth. This is one of them.

The overly sweet Dominican cake my colleagues insist on bringing every. Single. Time. We have a function.
It's diabetes indusing and even if they tone down the sugar content it still won't taste good.
On that note the in general rice and beans whenever we have a function. My God it's like all everyone can make!

Melon. I have a real, visceral reaction to melon. As in, I don't like it. The way it looks, tastes, or smells. (my years in a grocery store may have something to do with this as I've smelled almost every type of produce when it's rotten) Every. single. fruit platter has melon. I have to find the fruit that does not even touch melon. I usually take things from the very edges that are melon free.

Lay's potato chips. I try to avoid the chips but when WKD decides he must have a bag, my hand always reaches in for a handful or two and I end up gaining a pound.

I can't eat those anymore, I end up with terrible heartburn. I do too but when faced with a bag and watching my husband munch them, I cannot resist. We both end up with heartburn and we always say never again but it seems like we crave them in the very hot weather. I think the older you get, the harder it is to handle greasy or spicy foods. When I was a kid (in the Chicago area), I used to love Jays' potato chips, they were probably the greasiest potato chips you could find, the chips often had "bubbles" on them that were filled with grease. Whenever my Dad drove us downtown, we always passed the factory and you could smell the chips.

Butter. Pretty much anything you get at any restaurant is going to have superfluous butter incorporated into it. Even if you ask for no butter, you'll still get some in all likelihood.
Avoiding things like candy, or foods you just don't like, it mostly a matter of willpower. On this side of the coin, if you open a bag of chips around me, I'm going to dominate it. No matter how full I am, or if I'm in a spell where I'm eating perfectly, I still can't resist.

divtal - I'm sure you are aware that the famous red chateau bottled wines of Bordeaux are red blends of several red varietals. I am also a fan of red blends and some of them are quite good. Menage a Trois comes to mind.

Menage a Trois comes to mind. Kos, I'm very fond of Menage a Trois! Their " soft red blend" is lovely. And, they have a "white table wine," that's so very well balanced. Unfortunately, that is becoming difficult to find. I'll have to pay more attention to the wines of Bordeaux. God knows there's no shortage of wine resources, around here. But, California wines to tend to overwhelm the market. I'm branching out!

Some of those things, I guess you just have to train yourself to not buy them when you pass by them in the grocery store.
Chips can be problematic, though: in some stores, entire aisles are devoted to chips! (and they sneakily put them on random end-caps, too - just to make sure you don't entirely miss them. lol)

Ah, chips! Those are dangerous. And, I agree that supermarkets' displays, involve an essence of evil. Potato chips ... just plain ... is my junk food of choice. (" ARE" my junk food of choice??) Whatever. There are certain days for which I purposely include chips in my plan; New Year's day, Super Bowl Sunday, Fourth of July, and a couple of summer "floating" days, when I'm going to a picnic. Of course, the supermarkets thwart me, by having a two-for-the-price-of-one offer. I'm weak. But, I enjoy the chips.

And I know what you mean about the 2-for-the-price-of-one deals: that makes them even more irresistible! I guess they want you to get even more heartburn and indigestion than you normally do. LOL

Utz cheeseballs are a real problem for me, I have to ignore those big containers that they have when you enter WalMart during football season.

Spaghetti; specifically slurping it up because I have facial hair and the sauce inevitably gets on my hair. So I have to first slice it up with a knife and then scoop it with a spoon.

I miss Trader Joe's, wish one would open near me. I loved their individual quiches, chocolate stars cookies, sweet tea, tomato flavored olive oil, and ratatouille.
