I realized that I don't care about the new characters. Especially Rey. She has this hypertensive face again which kinda annoys me.

I don't like Rey. Finn was absolutely trashed by the script. Poe was cool, yet hardly in TFA. I guess I agree to an extent that these new characters aren't interesting.
Kylo Ren, however, is a character I am invested in. Sure, he was a little whiny in TFA, but he was a good character. I think he'll be pretty menacing in TLJ, though. Ren and Luke are the only reasons I'm excited for TLJ.

I like Daisy a lot, but Rey had no real arc in TFA. And was just too damn good at everything to be an interesting protagonist. I also liked Boyega a lot, but Finn, while given a potentially fascinating arc, was simply a butt of a thousand jokes. I'm definitely worried whether or not these characters are fixable by TLJ. I hope so.

That teaser scene with the AT-ATs. The red dust trail ship that smacked the ground like a 'tard. Was that Finny-boy?

Is this just going to be ESB remade? I love the idea of a ground battle in act one, I'm even ok with the same structure of having an enemy victory and the Resistance going on the run... but can't we at least get a new enemy vehicle???

Such a blatant, desperate "allusion" (which is way too kind a word) with the speeders skimming along a white, snow-like surface toward a wall of AT-ATs, because Empire. I rolled my eyes so hard they almost got stuck in the back of my head.

Same AT-ATs, same Falcon, same X-Wings. I can't name a single new iconic ship in the Sequel Trilogy. Even the Prequels had the reflective silver-looking J-Type 327 Nubian Royal Starship. Hey, at least they're not fighting in the snow again. Original!

I don't think the new characters have the same impact... yet, at least. I don't really dislike them, and some things and new people I do like, but if I made a list of the reasons I was and am excited for this Sequel Trilogy, 'revisiting characters from the Original Trilogy' will trump 'getting to know the new characters' and just about everything else about this series.
Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker in the trailer for The Last Jedi pretty much overshadowed everything and everyone else, even when he was just in voice over.

The only likeable new character is Poe who of course has the least screen time.

The only likeable new character is Poe who of course has the least screen time. I like Poe the best, and then Finn. Rey, not so much. She's just way too overpowered to be likeable.

Maybe he is just naturally an interesting character? I mean he has had the least screen time out of all the new characters, so maybe he has the most potential to be a fan favourite?

I dunno, just seemed like he was intended to be, and appeared to be, very one dimensional. He cracks jokes and can fly well and makes bff's whenever he meets someone.
