Yeah, it's a shame we never got an unrated version. May second favorite look for Jason is his look in Jason X before he turns into Uber Jason.... I don’t know how he was able to grow his hair back in X. It was pretty odd to me. I always figured if he got to regenerate long enough he'd grow some hair. Lol. I like the mask the best in Jason X.

The masks don’t really stand out much to me as much as say, Michael Myers’ masks. Most of them look the same, with a few exceptions. I do know that JGTH has the weakest mask though.

Every mask used in the F13 series was made from the same mold, just designed to be broken/damaged differently. But they all have the same base to start from, even the JGTH mask. The mask in Jason X is a completely new creation, which is why it stands out to me. "This film did something none of the others (including the 2009 remake) did and that was change the design of the hockey mask. Instead of recasting and retooling the hockey mask like they have done in EVERY other film this one had a brand new original hockey mask design made."bloody-disgusting.com/news/15292/13-days-of-f13-the-masks-of-jason-voorhees/

Feels weird to pick Jason X for any favorite list, but I find it the most successful of these at what it's trying to do.
Part 7 feels like a bad TV soap. 8 is infamously loose with its title. 9 tried to do something different, but forgot to make a F13 movie.
X....is exactly what it is. And knows it.

I could never get into X, as it took the cheese route way too far for my liking. Yes, it’s the most accurate about what it’s trying to be, but that’s it. Maybe one more rewatch will warm my feelings about it a little bit with the small following it has been getting lately. X also feels like a made for TV movie, and while the others aren’t the most visually stunning movies in the world, they could’ve made the production value look a little better.

When is the last time you watched it? Two years ago I did an Elm St/ F13 marathon for October and found Jason X to be a fun epilogue to the series after Freddy vs Jason. I definitely get what you're saying about the TV effects, but the movie is, to me, a back to basics F13 movie that's a fun last hurrah to the series. Anyway, when I did the marathon, I viewed all the films in this order:

Interesting order viewing. The last time I watched it was a couple years ago, I think. There's other versions of the orderbecause some insist VII and VIII have to take place in the 2000s due to Jason still being in the lake when Tina was a kid. But that's just too ridiculous for me as those films are so 80s. I just pretend the shot of Jason in the lake is present day and we start flashing back when we see Tina as a little girl.

I voted for VII. It is far from my favorite F13th, but as far as Kane Hodder ones I think the Jason design is best.

I don’t think I remember Tina witnessing Jason as a kid. Rennie from VIII is probably who you’re talking about. But yeah, when trying to figure out when each of these movies take place, it gets pretty complicated.

I don’t think I remember Tina witnessing Jason as a kid. She doesn't. But the movie shows Jason in the bottom of the lake (where Tommy left him in part VI) and then starts with Tina as a little girl. This implies Tommy sunk Jason, and then Tina grew up for like a decade or so before Jason got out again. I just ignore that part because it makes part VII need to take place way later than when it was released.

Definitely 'Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood.' Although I thought Kane Hodder played Jason in 'Jason Lives' which is my favourite Friday movie in the series but I looked it up on Google and found out he didn't. People can say what they want about the quality of the movies but I always l always Zombie Jason the most 'cause he was more powerful and scarier and I liked how he looked like a monster and he could punch people's heads off and put his arm through them and how the characters could be running away from him and he would turn up in front of them. I think Jason Vorhees is better as a monster than a human 'cause they limit the things they can do with him when they try and make out he is still alive and I don't think he was alive and it was also one of the things that really separated him from Michael Myers.
As for the movie itself I liked Tina and it was fun seeing Jason go up against somebody with powers for a change that could take him on and Kane Hodder is still friends with the actress now and has said he wants to make a movie where characters like Tina and Tommy return as I was telling you about on a private message and I hope we get one when they sort the rights out 'cause heaps of fans want to see those characters return and face Jason one more time. If Jason Lives was on the list, that would be my favourite by far. I wouldn’t mind seeing Lar Park Lincoln again as Tina, but it would be better if they just got Corey Feldman back to play Tommy, or maybe even Thom Matthews. Zombie Jason is cool. I’m not sure whether I prefer that or the human version from 2-4, since they’re basically both unstoppable. I guess as a human though he’s more terrifying since it’s more realistic. Yeah. I agree. I am kinda surprised they haven't tried to use Corey Feldman as Tommy grownup in a movie already since he is one of the more well known actors who has been in a lot of Horror movies and is still acting in them now and one thing I was disappointed with in 'Friday the 13th 5: A New Beginning' and 'Friday the 13th 6: Jason Lives' is how they didn't bring Trish back or explain where she went after the events of the fourth movie and I am wondering if it was 'cause the actress didn't want to return 'cause it didn't make sense why she just disappeared and they could have had her helping Tommy in 6 even if they just brought her back to kill her off instead of acting like she never existed. You are right about both versions being unstoppable but I don't know if I would say the human version is more realistic 'cause most people can't survive those things but each their own.

I always wondered it was because the actress who played Trish didn’t want to return. I understand why they didn’t bring her back in Part 5, since Tommy is supposed to be in a special needs camp.

I like my Friday movies like I like my pizza - the more cheese the better. It definitely looks like something on the SyFy channel, although Part 7 kinda looks like a 80s daytime soap while we're at it. 8 and 9 are fine visually I suppose.

In terms of the movie itself, Jason X, due to KM-14.

I think it is possible she turned them down but I can't find anything that confirms Kimberly Beck didn't want to return for another 'Friday the 13th' movie 'cause it is strange they never brought her back after she played such a big part in the fourth movie but then again it might have been 'cause they aged Tommy so quickly in the movies and if they had brought Trish back for another movie they would have had to replace the actress with an older actress 'cause it wouldn't have made sense that she didn't look any older while her brother had aged since the fourth movie. I can't remember how many years passed between 4 and 6 but I think Tommy was in his late teens or early 20s in 6 and the actor may have been older but I think it would have been good to bring her back and I like when they bring back characters from previous movies in Horror franchises and there are too many that just disappear and we never hear about them again when the films spend a long time trying to get the viewers to get behind the characters. I forgot about that with 5 but you make a good point and I am pretty sure 5 didn't happen in 6 and the events were mostly retconned just like the other 'Nightmare On Elm Street' movies ignored 2.
