They've been broadcasted for the 2nd time ever ( through an official streaming) but, since they've existed for decades, I expected a little more professionalism from the production. For God's sakes, a presenter said the wrong winner on purpose as a joke and they still played the winning music! Also, when Gina Carano was presenting, she made a pause and turned to look behind her. She then went back to her position and kept talking until the winner appeared from behind. Did she think he would come out earlier? Or was she looking at the screen expecting a video montage? In some categories, the presenters made comments about each nominee while listing them. They ranged from unfunny jokes to useless information. There are 2 problems I don't blame the people who worked in the production itself for: 1) Something was up with Henry Thomas (why was he listed as the lead of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE and his co-stars as supporting?) and Jennifer Tilly. 2) As usual, the criteria for elegibility and for classifying nominees by genre is weird. To be fair, an award show dedicated only to sci-fi, fantasy and horror isn't relevant anymore. As pointed out throughout the ceremony, these genres are too mainstream and they don't struggle to be voted by prestigious award members.

I remember it broadcast waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. Maybe 1978? William Shatner was the host--he mentioned next year they would be covering Star Trek the Motion Picture.
