Italy win a pretty boring game with Canada 36-0. Yanks are absorbing a lot against England and deserve some credit even though England haven't been impressive at all. 7-0 poms about 20 in. Italy went on to beat Canada 48-7.

That was so kind of the refs to let the match go on long enough for the USA to score a try.

Couldn’t believe that result when I checked FlashScore.
Hopefully Ireland can recover.
Brilliant news for the home fans though.

Ireland play such boring rugby, so it was great to see the more exciting and positive Japanese outplay them completely. Another shock victory to go with the SA game from last World Cup. They've really thrown a spanner in the works of that group. Teams underestimate Japan at their own risk.

I was cheering so hard for the US to get in at the end...and they did. England dominate the second hakf to win 45-7. Scotland will be fine. You can't write them off for one out of character performance against a very good team. The problem for Scotland is that playing well is 'out of character'. They have so many fantastic players yet seem to choke far too often. Their game against Ireland was not an unsurprising performance.

Sheesh, France absolute shit in the first half against US. Yanks were agressive and the Blues didn't respond well at all. Flattered to be leading 12-6 at the break.

France woke up in the last 10 minutes, but that was, on the whole a poor performance. France should not be getting outplayed for a good portion of an 80 minute match against the US. Final score a misleading 33-9. With a bit more organisation US would certainly have led.

I see some sections of the Australian media making noises about too many changes for the next game. Against Uruguay. With all due respect, Australia’s C team should beat Uruguay....

The bonus point is what's important against these minnow teams. Good to see they've progressed well enough that the days of 129-0 and 145-17 are behind us. If Japan beat Scotland, or at least don't lose by much, they should be QF bound.

Not a convincing first half from the Wallabies at all, but leading 19-3 and well on the way to a bonus point. Were lucky not to concede a try on the break, the Uruguayan scrum half not getting himself onside before picking up the ball. 10 penalties and 2 yellow cards in the first half is pretty poor discipline.

Improved secomd half from the Wallabies, only conceded a late try to win 45-10. Love the indigenous jersey, might go on the AFL shop and order a Collingwood one.

Not a bad performance by Australia - some issues in the set piece but all in all they did what was required.
Argentina v England - a bit of feeling in this one. Argentina need a win to stay alive. England should win, their outside backs are far superior

Straight forward enough for Australia, but discipline looks an issue.
Ben Youngs has had a very poor first half for England. He's not alone in that, but he's standing out at the moment. Heinz is not a good replacement; Jones made a mistake not take Care/Spencer.

I was pretty sure Argentina were fucked after that red card (which was fair enough) and two late tries for England puts them on track for a comfortable bonus point win. 15-3 with some shite kicking from Farrel.
Think you're being a little kind to Oz: that first half was very ordinary.

England score twice near the end to wun by the flattering margin if 39-10. They're through to knockouts. Uruguay are gone.
