Former #4 pick in the 2017 Draft - Josh Jackson will start the season in the G League for the Grizz.
Ouch. He was abysmal on the Suns.
Other Grizz news - apparently Andre Iguodala is staying away from the team.
He was hoping for a buyout but apparently the Grizz are smartly holding onto him as a trade chip.
Iggy would be a great addition as a 6th man for a contending team come trade deadline time in February.
Don't necessarily like him staying away from the team - why not go in there and try to mentor the young kids - ala Ja Morant - then get your wish at the deadline. I guess if he was bought out - he'd have his pick (rumor has it the Lakers) of who he could sign with as long as the signing team cleared a spot for him.

Pelicans:
Zion predicts he will average 20 and 10.
Easy big fella - I get we're going into to positionless ball here and you can pretty much put him at 3,4 or even 5 depending on matchups on the court - but NBA stars are quicker and stronger and he's got to get accustomed to the game.
I think 17 and 8 would be a good rookie year for him.

I'm a little disappointed that you didn't list the Pacers as a choice. With a healthy Oladolipo, we're as good if not better than other East teams. The same was true last year and I think we're even better now.

I voted Other obviously, but my point was I shouldn't have had to. I like your team as I noted on the first page. Expect them to fight for the 3rd/4th seed or so. But the problem is we have no idea when Oladipo is going to return. Some are stating All-Star break. Some stating early as December. I don't expect him to come back and just pick up right where he left off last year. I love the pickup of Brogdon but think losing Thad Young is a hit. Even if Oladipo returns early - I just don't see how they've got the fire power to match up with the Bucks and Sixers even with Oladipo, Turner, Brogdon, Sabonis, et al - but we shall see.

I feel the east is wide open, but your poll leaned heavily west. Portland? Denver? Please, those teams aren't winning squat.

How can you, in one breath, say Denver isn't winning squat, and in other breath say Indiana should have been an option? In a bad conference, Indiana finished 5th last year. Even a healthy Oladipo wouldn't have put them in the top 2 spots. Denver won the West last year with the 2nd youngest team (Knicks first). My vote, incidentally, went to the Nuggets before reading the thread.

Lakers Media Day:
AD states 'Showtime' is going to be a defensive team with with coach Frank Vogel adding:
'You're coming to play the L.A. Lakers - you're going to get hit - you're going to get smashed in the mouth'.
I wonder how long that holds up and if the Dwights and Rondo's of the world create a disturbance and after a couple of months it's pretty much every man for themselves - or if they behave and buy into this line of thinking and give 100%.
Also curious to see the chemistry between AD and LeBron.
Would be hysterical if AD bolted in free agency after this year.

Celtics:
Tacko Fall's agent has fired a warning shot and has put the C's on notice -
Stating that if 7'7 Tacko doesn't make the roster - there are numerous NBA teams waiting to scoop him up.
i.e. - If Tacko doesn't make the team - it appears as if the Celts expect him (he's signed to an Exhibit 10 contract currently) to clear waivers so they can immediately assign him to their G League affiliate.
You can't teach size folks.
Stay tuned for what the future holds for Tacko!

Kyrie Irving has stated at Nets Media Day: "I'm the next one and meant to take over this league for the next few years" Always found him overrated. At least since LBJ returned to Cleveland.

He came out in the offseason steadily defending it stating it isn't a travel:

This Friday and Saturday - the 1st NBA games ever will be held in India.
The young and exciting Sacramento Kings will be facing the Indiana Pacers in Mumbai.
Curious to see what Luke Walton does with them. He was apparently Boy Wonder in Golden State but couldn't survive LeBron.
Kings are one of the most exciting teams in the NBA with young talent:
De'Aaron Fox Buddy Hield Marvin Bagley III Harry Giles III Thought WCS was going to be a mainstay - but curious to see if he takes the next step with the Warriors.

Our GM had a press conference yesterday and told us all that what the Knicks did in off-season was exactly what they planned and wanted. Yup, we didn't want that top draft pick, we didn't want any of the top free agents like Kyrie, Durant, Klay, Kemba, Butler, Kawhi.... nah, our plan was to get Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, and the other Duke player not named Zion. I swear our team Prez said, "This is how we wanted to build our team."
We are well forked. 25 win season. That means we lose 50 plus games.

What do you think of Dennis Smith Jr. I loved him at NC State. Thought he was going to be a Westbrook clone. Seems liked he's underwhelmed a bit. Is is a keeper or no. Seems to have a 'meh' shooting percentage - especially from 3.

You can't even hand check. Any rumors up there of Ainge looking for another piece at the trade deadline? Most experts have the Celts in the 3 seed. Who'd be most likely to go for a piece / fit - i.e. who has value that can get value in return - Brown? Can't see it being Tatum. Don't think Hayward would fetch much with his contract (or is this the last year of it - which in case it would be valuable)

What do you think of Dennis Smith Jr. He's good. We like him a lot here. Has potential to be one of the premier point guards in the league in a few years. He wants to be that. He believes he will be that. He's got a real cocky way about him...normally I hate that in a young player, but with him it fits.
