That Tyler Herro is a blast to watch. I enjoy watching Summer League ball and I always write down the name of a guy or two who really stood out. A player to watch for the future. Last summer it was Herro who was the one. Man, he is spectacular. So young, logging huge fourth quarter minutes in tight playoff games...and he shines. He excels!
That Heat team is unlike any team I've ever seen. A bunch of washouts from other teams. Most of the guys were drafted late in second round. Yet, they make their way to the Heat and they are playing better than any team around. And Herro? Wow. Hell, did you see Zion in the bubble? What a disgrace. Overweight, didn't play fourth quarters, so unenthusiastic.... Then you see this Herro guy. Heat got the better pick. (Zion obviously has the higher ceiling, but right now who cares about that. I'd rather have Herro on my team.)

It's so good to be able to root for the Heat, after so actively rooting against them from 2011-2014 for no particular reason at all.

Lakers onto the Finals
Lakers/Celtics is the classic iconic rivalry matchup - but part of me wants to see LeBron vs. his old team The Heat (would be much more dramatic with fans in the stands)

Jimmy Butler makes it to the Finals - Sixers have egg all over their face to an extent.
What a big 'F U'.
That being said - they maxed Simmons right after Butler was traded during free agency - I think they saw Jimmy was too much of an alpha and it may have stunted Ben's growth to have him around and may have been afraid with Jimmy here - it would have meant Ben would have wanted to bolt.
I'm not really ticked they got rid of him since I didn't like his personality (even though he's what they needed - a killer/closer in the 4th quarter) - more ticked they spent $289,000,000 on Horford/Harris when this league turned into a guard/wing driven league years ago and we already had Ben and Joel - and we needed shooters and have seen the likes of Redick, Shamet, Cov, Dario, Ily, Beli go.....

Celtics have battled back to tie it against Miami in the 4th, should be an exciting finish.

Disappointing in the moment, but I didn't think the C's were a true title contender this year anyway. They have to make some moves to get over the hump, namely getting a quality big or two. I like Theis a lot, I haven't looked at the numbers but this seemed like a career year for him in terms of consistency. But at the end of the day he's a third string f/c, and he was our starting center for goodness sake. I think Kemba Walker is a 'good stats, bad team' type of player who can't win at the NBA level. I'm not saying he's selfish, I'm saying he does one thing well, and it doesn't cancel out all the negatives he brings to the table as a player. Again, his skillset is ideal for the role of bench scorer, yet his value in the league is set as 'superstar,' which never made sense to me. I don't think we can win with him, but I don't think he's going anywhere, so... And I don't mean to be overly critical of him, he's a good teammate, solid work ethic, all that. But the standard needs to be higher than, "Well at least he isn't a cancer like Kyrie."
The Celtics have an identity problem. There's a saying that an NBA team has the personality of its best player. Who is that, exactly? Tatum is their most talented player, Walker is a 'max player,' but the emotional leader of the team is unquestionably Marcus Smart. So who sets the tone? On Miami, it's obvious. Jimmy Butler is their best player, and their tone setter. He has an edge, he sets the example others have to follow. He's the one who will hold you accountable when you screw up, he's the one that can get it done and say, "Now you do it." The Celtics don't have that guy. Tatum almost feels like he's slipping into that 'as long as I score, I've done my job' mentality that Kemba has. Jaylen Brown is a quiet leader, he doesn't have that hard edge. Walker is just there to shoot. Hayward is a ghost of himself. Smart is seen as a 'glue guy,' not the team alpha. So whose example does everyone follow? What attitude defines them as a team? How do you find out what you're made of if you don't know who you are?
Of course I'm advocating an overhaul while this team has already undergone two or three in Brad Stevens' tenure as coach. The fact that the team is consistently competitive shows how great of a coach he really is. Imagine what he could do with that genius Steve Kerr's roster. It could be worse. The Celtics are a competitive team, they aren't a bottom feeder. But I feel like this team, as currently constructed, has maxed out. A title will remain out of their grasp in the foreseeable future. I think it's gonna be a long, long time.

Just like the Sixers. The difference is I'm not delusional. Few tweaks here and there and we'll be fine.
Remember - we have two generational talents - you have 0
Get a load of this wheelin' and dealin' -
Horford/JRich/Unprotected 1st, 2 2nds -
Buddy Hield
Harris/'Tisse/#21 pick this year -
CP3
All teams mix and match slop to make salaries work
New Lineup -
CP3 Hield GR3 Ben Joel
That team wins a chip
Rumor has it D'Antoni is the top choice for a coach. In that situation he's going to want to play small ball with shooters/guards/wings. Numerous are stating Simmons would be good as gone since he won't shoot. Pffffffftttttt. Here's how you handle that. You move Ben to the '5' and play small ball. You then deal Embiid for a PG/Combo Guard, 3&D Wing and 2 1st Round picks. You surround Ben with shooters, guards, wings.
Others are stating since D'Antoni is the top choice - Harden could follow him. Free agent in 2022 I believe - but if you're going to wheel and deal (rumor has it D'Antoni is going to demand some moves if he takes the job) and bring Harden here - it's obviously going to take one of Joel and Ben. Again - I deal Joel in this situation and move Ben to the '5'.
My point - we have options baby - options galore!
(I'm holding onto Ben and Joel and going with my trades above)

What a big 'F U'.
It isn't Butler you should be talking about. It's Markelle Fultz. You jerks drafted him #1....how was it watching Bam Adebayo play like a Hall Of Famer? Adebayo was sitting there for you...and you took Fultz. And I didn't even mention another top player in the Heat/Celts series was also available for you --- Jayson Tatum. Two young guys who played like future Hall Of Famers in that series...and you went with Fultz. Losing Jimmy Butler is the least of the Sixers problems.

And a perfect fit for the Sixers.
A Combo Guard to run next to Ben. Ben would handle the ball in transition - Fultz in the halfcourt game - and Fultz was also supposed to be able to shoot
We've moved into positionless ball - but Fultz was supposed to run at the '2' (SG) next to Ben at the '1' (PG) at the time
He was the guy - supposed to be the missing/final piece of The Process - was billed as exactly what we needed
Kid turned out to be a fragile egg with confidence issues and wasn't ready for 'The Show' - he cracked under pressure in the big city atmosphere. All he had to do was be 3rd Banana behind Embiid/Simmons - he wasn't ready and sat on the bench with a phantom inury (TOS) he and his agent concocted after going to numerous doctors to get diagnosed with something - that something was actually the kids head - it was mental.

You are acting as though we should feel sorry for you or understand your decision that turned out badly. WRONG! Part of draft selection - I would say 50% - is not the game the guy has on the court. It's his head. Our recent first round picks - Kevin Knox and RJ Barrett - have game, have mad skills, but they have no head for the big time. Just look at Tyler Herro. That 20 year old kid is playing fourth quarter in Conference Finals and he's performing! He has it. Barrett has the better skills, but Herro is the far better player to have on your team. Fultz should have been vetted far better than he was. We don't feel sorry for you, we don't nod and understand your decision. Nope, we laugh at the stupidity of the Sixers.

Then I'd argue you should also laugh at 85% of the so-called experts - not just the Sixers - because Fultz was considered the #1 pick by a vast majority of the experts at the time.
Not just the #1 pick - but the perfect player to compliment Simmons and Embiid.

And ReyKahuka pointed out even that ‘08 team had trouble the first 2 rounds. Marc Spears just broke on Twitter the Sixers and Pels have already reached out to Doc
So the Sixers are interested in - Doc, D'Antoni, Ty Lue
Rumors before this stated it was D'Antoni's job if he wanted it - now they just contacted Doc - interesting.....
