Best film since the 3D & the remake. Not truly accurate, but it was nostalgic to see Burt Young & Diane Franklin return for this one. I really enjoyed it, it was better than the previous crap like: The escape, the curse, it's about time or doll house...

This one is currently sitting on Netflix for me. Not sure if I’ll chance it yet though. First, I need to see that 2005 remake.

The 2005 remake is pretty good. Not accurate. I just hate the fact they turned the pudgy George Lutz into a six pack ABS ripped type of guy & the fugly Kathy Lutz into a supermodel.
The babysitter was the highlight of the film...
The new one is not connected with the remake..

Been waiting to see that movie for a long time.

Any older horror franchise that I watch, I have to start with the first one then proceed to the following ones in his order. I'm telling you back in the 80's, examples: Like the Friday's, Halloween's or the Nightmares, I only had to watch a few ...
Now in any horror franchises, the sequels never ends. So many too watch.

I'll probably see it one day. Glad you enjoyed it.
I'll be that guy... I realize it's not a documentary. But I'm disappointed that the Supernatural aspects are focused on at all. The true murders are horrific enough.
And... *Spoilers*
The Mother lying down and letting herself be shot?? ... That's the context I got from the trailer...

It's a fine premise for a horror story (based on a book, I think?), but it's certainly a true story. Some true events, but the whole haunting thing is not true. For one thing it involves a haunting. For another most of the claims from the family in the house just didn't happen.

How many friggin' Amityville movies are there now? Just when you think you've seen them all, two more pop up on Netflix! It seems like everybody and their dog is making one!
