If this happens, I'd like to hear the MCU haters explanation for it.

If true then that pretty much confirms that The Batman will have zero ties to the previously established DCEU and not be a prequel like some thought of.
Regarding Wright, I cannot stand the man with the way he goes about his political stances on social media, he comes across very cold and unlikeable a lot of the time...BUT....He *is* a very good actor nonetheless, and can work as many different characters in Batman lore not just Jim Gordon - who I think would not be the best use of his acting talents. Gordon's a great character, but Wright would excel so much better in a villain type of role instead. But that's just me.

Jeffrey Wright is the voice of The Watcher for Marvel Studios; What-If? Series on Disney Plus. It would hardly be the first time that an actor worked on Marvel and DC movies. Hell, The Suicide Squad is full of people who were involved in the MCU.

It’s already been said that they would cast a woman of color to play Catwoman, and there’s also a dark haired person of Hawaiian descent as Aquaman. Beyond that, we also had a black Perry White and a black Deadshot. This would hardly be a first for DC.

I don’t get why they just dumped Simmons to the curb. He was a perfect casting for the role.

Can Kat Dennings Play Harley Quinn if this else world?

Can Kat Dennings Play Harley Quinn if this else world? No, seeing another take on Harley Quinn in live-action feature film is unlikely because Margot Robbie has a good working relationship with Warner Bros. and her portrayal as Harley Quinn has been met with praise from critics and fans alike, she is also on fire right now as an actress proving to be a lucrative name as well as an acclaimed actress worthy of multiple award nominations. The situation with Robbie's Harley Quinn is quite a bit different than Ben Affleck's Batman or Jared Leto's Joker, in Affleck's case DC on film ended up steering away from original intentions and a mixture of studio pressure and personal matters led to him leaving position as director and eventually deciding it best to leave the role resulting in the project to take on a much different life as a reboot - in summary, anyway.

So Catwoman being anything but White won't hurt anyone's brain. Aquaman still had blonde highlights and was a surfer bro. And Perry White was such a small part that it didn't matter. If they made this Batman movie anything like a Year One or the Nolan trilogy, Gordon will be a major part in the movie.

I just remembered that there’s going to be a black Black Canary in Birds of Prey. I would think that’s probably a bigger deal than a black Commissioner Gordon.

Pretty much the same. The thing with Gordon is Barbara. If it gets that far, are they gonna disassociate her from Gordon like in Batman & Robin? Make her adopted like Sue Storm?

Wasn’t Commissioner Gordon black in The LEGO Batman Movie? Wasn't it Two-Face? He [Gordon] was Latino, same with Barbara.
