I barely got through that last season of supergirl. I am the type of person that does not like to give up on shows because a lot of times they turn around and get better. Plus it’s part of the arrowverse so I forced myself to get through it but it was brutal.

In-your-face diversity is becoming really annoying Same for the so blatantly pathetic attempts to make loving the character or the show a thing before it even starts, as seen by the tattoo video and the you have an entire city behind you, omg im a huge fan bits, like seriously stop it, sell the show stop trying to sell people loving the show, if you sell the show well then people WILL love the show. huh what other examples have there been?

Well those specifically as I haven't been looking for the promo material but like the tattoo trailer has everyone come running in to get tattoo's of Batwoman doesn't tell you anything about the show at all it just a trailer telling people look everyone loves Batwoman, then in the other trailer instead of trying to sell the characters, relationships, set up or drama of the series it's just random clips with the only real meaning to them being the everyone is behind you clip, the fangirl scientist and then the your not Batman scenes, like it doesn't tell me anything about who the character is, what her relationships are like, what the situation is, nothing it's just hollow action and a couple of eye roll worthy pandering, like this would have worked a while back but now the CW has so many of these shows just superhero action isn't enough to sell a new show imo.
This would also be fine for a return promo after the X-mas break as then you have set up enough stuff you can do a love this because everyone loves this type of push same for a S2 promo, like Legends, Supergirl, Arrow. Flash, Black Lightning don't really need to sell you on the new seasons by telling you about the characters, we know who they are and want them back so you can just show us them doing cool stuff because you've earned a fanbase, this show hasn't and it bugs me, but I get irked by a lot of silly things so maybe im alone in this I dunno.

Out of all the upcoming DC TV Shows the show I am actually not sure about the most if 'Pennyworth.' Have you seen that one dazz and if so what were your thoughts about it? I heard it has already aired and they are talking about a second season and giving it good reviews on some sites so it might be a lot better than I think but we have Arrow, Batwoman, Supergirl, Doom Patrol, The Flash, Swamp Thing and Pennyworth all coming to Fox8 this month and they are going to air every weeknight so we will be watching all of them and I want to see 'Swamp Thing' the most even though it was cancelled but 'Pennyworth' is the one I am just not sure about 'cause it looks more like a Spy Action show than a superhero show. 'Arrow' might be good since it is the final with all the returning characters like Thea, Tommy, Malcolm, Moira, Yao Fei, Shado, Katana and Prometheus returning and Slade could be coming back too. The Flash has Red Death and new superhero joining and Supergirl has a lot of different villains this year instead of just one main one so I am interested in seeing what they do with all of them and Batwoman. Whether they are good or not remains to be seen though. Pennyworth is awesome, it's actually my favourite show from the ones im watching atm. Actually maybe tying with Titans. I highly recommend watching the pilot if youre not sure. It's a pleasant surprise, I honestly expected a nothing show that would fade into obscurity after the first season While I wouldn't say it was my favourite of the new shows I have to say it was better than I was expecting it to be and we enjoyed the first episode and are going to watch the rest of the season to find out what happens next. Make no mistake about it though it is clearly not a superhero show so fans who go in thinking it is going to be could end up being disappointed and the connections to Batman are so few and in between it feels like it was written as a different show and they decided to make some changes and rename the lead Alfred but as a spy show on its own I don't think it is that bad. Also I have heard some rumours Ra' al Ghul could be in the next season and he is one of the few Batman villains that would make sense being in it 'cause of how old he is.

Whether they are good or not remains to be seen though. I haven't bothered with Pennyworth, the actor seems to be channelling some Michael Caine and well I cannot stand Michael Caine truth be told, then the trailers had Paloma Faith who was cringey to me, so nothing made me want to see it, and yeah it's just another we have this project no one cares about but we think could be good fuck it lets slap some Batman IP names to shit and say it's a prequel, like no thanks I'll pass.
But you Deb you cheeky little monkey went off script, Pennyworth wasn't on the list you mischievous madam, not surprised your looking on the positive end of things however, though there was some good ole tude in that post, Arrow could be good because it's a shorter season, as in they have less chances to muck things up I guess wish I could say I disagree with that sentiment but it's probably true.
Oh. Okay. You should give it a chance dazz . You might end up liking it more than you think you will. We watched it a few days ago and we were expecting it to be a lot worse but it surprisingly wasn't that bad and as I said on my post to @red below it isn't a superhero show and if people watch it thinking it is going to be they will end up being disappointed but if you are a fan of spy shows and movies like James Bond you might enjoy 'Pennyworth.' I can see why you think the actor is channeling Michael Caine though and why do you dislike Michael Caine so much? I mean I am not a huge fan of his but I didn't mind him as Ebenezer Scrooge in 'The Muppet Christmas Carol' and he has had quite a few successful roles over the years. Yes. I suppose I did go off script there and we still haven't watched 'Swamp Thing' yet but I think out of the 'Arrowverse' shows 'Supergirl' is the most disappointing so far 'cause I am against having Lena as a villain just 'cause her last name is Luthor and the writers made it look like she forgave Kara when she came clean and told her she was Supergirl but then we found out Lena is only putting on an act and plans to exact her revenge on Kara later in the season. I think 'Arrow' could be good too and I am actually looking forward to seeing some of the returning characters and seeing how they come back from the dead.

This is kinda off topic stargazer1682 but since we were discussing it on another thread a few months ago I thought you might like to know Lyla is indeed going to be Harbringer in the 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover event and it was confirmed in the article below. Arrowverse 'Crisis' Event: Lyla Michaels Confirmed to Fill Key Role, as tvline.com/2019/10/02/arrow-crisis-infinite-earths-crossover-lyla-harbinger/

Yeah, I had seen that, along with the promotional photo. The whole thing has piqued my interest to see how it is going to play out, but I'm not holding my breath that they're not going to fuck it all up.

I dunno why I dislike him tbh I just do, probably because every role he's in seems to be Michael Caine as whatever, you know he isn't Alfred in the TDK trilogy he's Michael Caine if he was a butler, and I hate that, some stuff cannot be helped like Arnold always being a big strongman he's fucking Arnold that's just how he looks, but Arnold would play different characters, sure some were similar John Matrix could be Dutch once he made it back from his fight with the Predator, and the Terminators are all kind of the same, but he's different in Red Heat than he is to those films to how he is in Kindergarten Cop to how he is in Junior to how he is in Twins to how he is in Conan and so on, Caine is always just Caine in a different scenario but same personality imo, so fuck him.
I do like him as Scrooge though, it's his only film I like him in also, that's the magic of the muppets I guess.
But I hope you aint in sales Deb because damn you did not do a good job with Pennyworth, not as bad as how bad you were expecting it to be huh? that's like me saying hey being hung from a meat hook going up my butt wasn't as intensely painful as I was expecting, it hurt a lot less actually doesn't mean it was a pleasant experience, so I think I will pass on Pennyworth for now Deb, but thank you for trying.
I don't mind Lena as a bad guy myself but fuck me if that was not handled the most atrociously as possible way, Kara has lied to me about a secret which is absolutely hers to keep which I had no right to know about...SHE HAS BETRAYED ME, I will destroy her and everything she holds dear, I mean fuck off with that shit, atleast with Lex on Smallville it made so much more sense, Clark kept his secret at times when telling Lex could have saved him, the lies constantly pushed Lex towards his darker nature, Clark let Lex be electroshocked rather than expose his own secret, so Lex resenting Clark hiding that from him made more sense, especially when Lex did often early on share and expose his past and dark secrets to Clark in ways that could bite Lex in the arse, Lena's probably just as guilty as lying to Kara as Kara is for lying to her only difference is Lena's secrets came to light often due to necessity rather than Lena's sheer willingness to share.
Hopefully they went in this strong so they could have Lena have a change of heart later in the season, but it's the CW and Supergirl, they have almost no credibility with me to believe they would do this.

Interestingly, I've heard someone make a similar observation about Michael Caine (or as Honest Trailers memorably referred to him as, "My Cocaine"). I generally enjoy what movies I've seen him in. Love The Muppet Christmas Carol. Also a huge fan of Noises Off! Have you ever seen Second Lions? That's a great movie, and in my opinion he effects a pretty good Texas accent. I can't say whether it would fool a Texan, but I thought he did a good job in that and I really like that movie.

Not really a spy show so much but it certainly feels like one. Pennyworth is from the SAS, elite military, equivalent to the delta force in the States. Oh? WOW I hope they do him justice not like the Ra's from Arrow...funny thing is his daughters are far better characters. Bot Nyssa and Talia that is
