What our friend BAToutaheck has done for the piano, I would like to do for the violin family of instruments. First up, violinist John Garfield in "Humoresque" (1946) The Fugue String Quartet made up of Mark Ivanir, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christopher Walken, and Catherine Keener in "A Late Quartet" (2012)

In The Godfather Saga there's a scene of a boy playing the violin in Little Italy. When asked his name, he replies, "Carmine Coppola". That of course is the director's father's name. Carmone Coppola also came up with some of the music used in the films.

In the Good Old SummertimeS.Z. Sakall tortures a Strad with poor Buster Keaton as a captive audience. Buster later attempts to deliver it to him on the bandstand (but it's a substitute...thank goodness).
