Somebody would have taken their promotion national. Crockett or Vern Gagne or even Ole and the Briscoes. Cable TV as much as anything doomed the territories. Vince probably at the most hastened their demise. yes but the point being that anybody else but him would’ve been better for wrestling I've never been a fan. I still remember how I felt on Black Saturday in 1984 when Vince's face showed up where Gordon Solie's was supposed to be.

Vince took over Toronto's Maple Leaf Wrestling either shortly before or after Black Saturday and I was stuck with just Vince until Ole got his Saturday morning show on TBS.

Though I did have friends that would only watch wwf and wouldn’t give anything else a chance
