TWO different offers to travel all of time and space in the same episode. One as a noncorporeal being but still, she got to choose.

What are your feelings about the character so far? I mean, we've only seen her onscreen for what amounts to an hour so far and my thoughts of her are: Meh

"Bill" is undoubtedly the WORST companion of the NuWho era and perhaps the worst in the entire history of the franchise.
There may be someone even worse but none of them come to mind.

It is far too early to make that sort of statement.

It is far too early to make that sort of statement. Tell me, did you criticize Star Wars fans for making that judgement call about Jar Jar Binks when George Lucas foisted him on the world back in 1999? Was it "too early" to make a statement that Jar Jar was the worst Star Wars character in history?

To be fair, I waited more than 20 minutes of Jar Jar's on-screen air time to make my decision about him. Plus, comparing Bill with Jar Jar is like trying to compare a grape with a grapefruit.

Bill is your typical SJW nincompoop who doesn't want you to assume gender but every episode will bring up how disadvantaged she has it because she's black... And SPOILER... LESBIAN! Seriously every ep that's all she talks about. 0 personality and she's not edgey she's BORING!

>>> Actually not, it's every ep. <<<<
The Moffat apologists on here will just continue to lie and hope people don't research the facts and call them out on it.
It's a well known fact that Moffat is incapable of writing a "gay" character who doesn't reference their sexual orientation every episode and make it part of the dialogue whether it has anything to do with the plot or not. Just look at Jenny Flint and tell me if she serves any purpose on nuWho aside from constantly mentioning that she's married to "Madame Vastra"
I used to bash Russell T. Davis, but at least he can write gay characters who serve a purpose on a show aside from just telling everyone they're gay.

Maybe you should try watching again she never says "hi I'm a lesbian", she just dates girls from what I see and I've watched every ep this season. I think the criticism here is just that she actually dates girls and is visible.

My dude I don't even like Moffat or care that much about the show, I'm a casual watcher at best. But I've seen this type of criticism time & time again. There's ALWAYS some issue with a gay character being visible in a show. "it's not necessary" "it's just to pander" "they're trying to shove it down our throats" "I don't mind it as long as it fits the narrative" etc. so on and so forth. There'll never be the right kind of depiction for some people.

I noticed none of the "Bill" apologists here have responded to the FACT that Jenny Flint only exists on Doctor Who so she can mention that she's married to "Madame Vastra" in EVERY episode she appears in. It is no exaggeration to point out the character has NO personality traits at all and is simply there as a plot device for the pathetic Doctor Who "creative" team to tell viewers "look, we're showing a loving gay marriage on the show! look how progressive we are!!" Moffat creates characters like "Jenny Flint" and "Bill Potts" for the sole purpose of pandering to the SJW's, and you know it. The "gay people exist in the real world so we're just showing gay couples on Doctor Who to reflect that" excuse doesn't hold water. Catholics exist in the real world (and they're a much bigger percentage of the UK's population than gays, BTW), but you NEVER see Doctor Who pander to Catholic viewers by depicting a series regular going to Mass or saying a rosary every episode they appear in. Gee, that's funny, I recall that numerous people, including myself, responded negatively to the awful first trailer with "Bill", and that was long BEFORE they revealed the character is a lesbian. Some of us just aren't happy with a classy and charming girl being replaced by an ugly shrill girl with an afro and a man's name squawking lines that nobody can understand. Imagine that. Sure, and I don't even dislike the "Bill Potts" character or hate the show this season. In spite of the propaganda about how Bill is supposedly the "first" openly gay companion, I seem to recall they showed Captain Jack being into men numerous times, and you didn't see the massive backlash or huge drop in viewers you have now. Jack was an awesome character in his own right and had a good story arc about being immortal that had nothing to do with him dating men. He also got his own spinoff that lasted four seasons. "Bill" on the other hand, is a worthless token SJW character who is there for a single season. Did you ever consider it might be because of the crappy writing and NOT because of "homophobic" viewers?
