Hands down the weakest start to any 'Arrowverse' show and one of the weakest series premieres of the season. Ruby Rose is neither likeable or charismatic and the character overall is very cold and uninteresting.

Eh it was fine, Dredd said it already but Rose isn't captivating in the lead at all and is one of the weaker parts of the show, which I figured she would be, the story was fine, acting otherwise was fine, as was the action, it was just fine though, nothing spectacular to hook me off the bat like the other shows typically have though.
I still hate 90% of these voice overs though, they just almost always come across so stupid and pretentious but it isn't as obnoxiously stupid sounding as Supergirl's typically is so there is that atleast.
The Alice thing was obvious and lame imo however, and I had to laugh that they got in the CW standard of someone being upset someone lied, like what the fuck is it with that network and characters being so shocked and hurt by any lie is beyond me, especially as their show runners tend to be the biggest liars going what with the major promises they almost never deliver on, so yeah that amused me a little.

Not bad, I expected much worse. I agree with the others. Ruby is a bad actress

it also has a 75% score from critics That's for the season, as usually reviewers get atleast a couple of episodes early so they can watch, digest, and write a review to be quickly posted right after a show premiers.
Also the tomatometer isn't a score it's ratio counter for a binmary thumbs up or thumbs down response, the score is the average score they no longer share right away, you have to click for more details to see it, which Batwoman scored a barely passing 6.6/10 despite a majority thumbs up, but the audience score is hilarious 1.7/5 I mean it wasn't good but it wasn't that bad for fuck sake, and a bunch of the reviews were simply "bah propaganda, bah women aaaah" like come on I actually thought the potential cringe inducing "feminism" we saw in one of the early trailers was non-existent.
Of topic kind of but one thing I find odd is how could Kate punch through the ice even with the cuffs as knucks if she couldn't budge the thing blocking the hole? maybe this isn't my strong suit but if the ice is thick enough to support something too heavy for her to move wouldn't it be too thick for her to punch through whilst also under water?

They still had the one line I still think was dumb, the it will be when it fits a woman line, that's just uh, makes more sense for her to say it will be when it fits her, for one the woman line is dumb because it's like that can fit a woman, it just cant fit her, so that line is clearly just there for a sound bite and not because it makes sense, but other than that a lot of the other stuff wasn't there.
Glad they didn't do the stupid you don't want me as a crow because i'm a woman thing we would normally get, even though Kate's ex is one of the crows, but logic holes like that usually don't stop the CW shows and their silliness, I just hope some of those other cringe worthy lines aren't in the follow up episodes though, but again it's the CW, so I'm not exactly holding out hope here.
