I still remember how Sony desperately tried to build up the Sinister Six as their answer to the Avengers. It reeked of desperation, but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t curious to see how they would’ve pulled it off, or at least I was until after TASM2 was release.

I think I'd rather have had that Fantastic Four/X-Men civil war film instead.

I have trouble being excited for Sinister Six unless Venom is going to have nothing to do with it. He was a total anti-hero and Eddie Brock was a genuinely good guy. I wouldn't want to see that version face off against Spider-Man.
The only way I'd accept that is if Venom was a part of the team at first but later defended Peter realizing that he wasn't the enemy or something like that.
