Avengers: Endgame star Brie Larson confirms that she and her fellow female cast members have pitched an A-Force style movie to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, and offers an update on what's going on.
TEXT: It's no secret that some of the female members of the Avengers: Endgame cast approached Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during production to pitch an all-female team-up movie, and now Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has talked more about what happened, just how serious those discussions were, and what might come next.
"It is something," the actress said before asking the interviewer, "Well what do you mean truly discussed?" When she replied with "You tell me," Larson added: "I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, 'We are in this together, we want to do this.' What that means, I have no idea."
"You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love, and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.
"I love Carol Danvers so much and I love playing her and I love the way that she interacts with people and the way that she’s grown into herself. So, I’m excited to see where that goes. But there’s so many other new characters that I love, as well, that I’m excited to see and it’s so hard to imagine now where we’re at with these stories. Them existing without any one of those characters."
"It’s hard to pull that apart," she concluded.

Problem is I can't imagine a script that would justify grouping all the female heroes without any of the male heroes getting included. I like the idea of the movie but only if they can make a script that doesn't make it look forced.

The cosmic heroes like Danvers, Gamora, Mantis and Nebula I could see together under the same circumstances (some planet's in trouble they respond at the same time or whatever). The inclusion of the Earth based heroes is where it gets tricky.

You'd need an Earth-destroying threat in order to group both the cosmic and Earthbound heroes, yet for a threat that big it's hard to imagine that the male heroes will just stand by and do nothing.

I think there was a Justice League episode where an Amazonian extremist unleashes a virus that affects the male population and leaves the male League members deathly ill. Something like that maybe?

I would just hope it can be a bit more subtle than the “she’s not alone” scene from Endgame.

I would just hope it can be a bit more subtle than the “she’s not alone” scene from Endgame.Fuck being more subtle how bout just make it less fucking stupid, ph yeah the lady that can tear through spaceships like they were made out of wet tissue paper with her bare hands really needed the help of half a dozen non super powered humans Wanda and maybe Valkyrie are the only ones who made any sense as back up as Wanda is a fellow infinity stone enhanced person and the only other person who can make Thanos her bitch and Valkyrie is a elite level Asgardian warrior, the rest are like wtf are you going to do?
I think a women only team up film can work, but a every women from the MCU only movie wont, also why jam them all together at once? do a normal A-Force film with the earth heroes, then do a cosmic one with the cosmic heroes maybe add Valkyrie to that also, then finish it with a joined 3rd A-Force film bridging the two groups together with the events of both films somehow tying in together, but again don't include everyone just to include them.

I mostly just thought it was hilarious how all the female characters, including Gamora, just happened to all be lined up together to help out Captain Marvel. That was so incredibly forced. It’s like something you’d see from a CW or Disney Channel show.
