My favorite writer, V.S.Naipaul had this to say about Ernest Hemingway - "Hemingway didn't know where he was, ever, really. He was so busy being an American and that was his subject matter. You wouldn't have any idea, from Hemingway or Fitzgerald and their stories or writings about Paris, that Paris was in the most terrible way between the wars. They just talked about the cafes, the drinks and oysters and things like that. They don't see the larger thing outside."
The Last Movie belongs in the same league. Atleast Hemingway was entertaining. Jeez! This just goes on and on.
made in a time when social mobility for americans was easy in any country in the world. they fight and fuck around. then make fragmented movies about it.
american decadence transported to other countries through the movies.
in free love, the inferior and the ugly are eliminated from the orgies.
films like this should be watched in a theatre.
a sub plot involving a gold prospector. wtf?
that's my fragmented review.

What I've read about this movie, it's surprising there is any movie at all. Since it seems they did absolutly everything, exept making a movie, most of the time.
