Exactly. it's sort of one of those things pretty much everyone will need at some point or another either for power outages or just seeing stuff outside at night or in dark places occasionally.
hell, I would say something like any semi-recent two AA powered flashlight would be sufficient for many people as it gives decent enough brightness and decent runtimes and is not too big (as carrying heavier lights I would imagine most people would rather avoid(although I am sure there are exceptions if you need high powered stuff etc)) or too small (so you ain't got to worry about losing it).
p.s. the highest powered one I got some years ago is a Stanley SL3WAKS 400 lumens spotlight (runs on four AA's (I got Eneloop's in it)) as it's more of the spotlight type that projects a beam a good distance on objects with two settings, HIGH and LOW. but I don't use it much as I tend to prefer the average-to-small sized ones for more typical usage as, like I mentioned in my initial post, my Olight I3T is my general use light for occasional use given the low setting is good enough to see where your going in the dark and lasts 16 hours on a single AAA and for a occasional time where you need more higher power briefly here and there it's easily bright enough for that to and only $20 online so you can't really lose as the way I see it your pretty much going to have to pay at least between $10-30 for something decent enough as, like I was saying, I avoid flashlights that don't run on standard sized batteries (I avoid lithium-ion and the like batteries) as while some lights have a built in lithium rechargeable battery, it will likely die before the light itself does and replacing it with a quality battery might be tricky etc as standard batteries are just the safer overall choice since those can be easily replaced with high quality replacements as NiMh batteries like Eneloops will be available for many years to come and you don't have to worry about lack of quality with those where as many random devices use that rechargeable lithium types which quality on those tends to vary and they are just more unstable in general etc.
