Not my cup of tea. Music was annoying. Lots of dead space (eg, watching someone just walk for 30 seconds). Performatively pretentious. I prefer movies where you get lost in the story and forget that you are watching a movie. Not possible with this one.

Dude. WTF? You give this 8/10 and Aliens only 6/10? You need to get your movie rating meter re-calibrated. What does ALIENS have to do with this? It's an action movie. It's also a sequel.

Aliens is a film most movie lovers have seen, so lots of people can relate to a discussion about it. (And, incidentally, it's a sci-fi film with a strong female protagonist.) Most rate Aliens favorably: IMDb 8.4/10 rottentomatoes audience score 94%, critics 99% fresh So if somebody rates Aliens relatively low, but rates Under the Skin relatively high ... it's interesting.

Aliens is a film most movie lovers have seen, so lots of people can relate to a discussion about it. Most rate Aliens favorably: IMDb 8.4/10 rottentomatoes audience score 94%, critics 99% fresh UNDER THE SKIN was also praised by critics and moviegoers. And, incidentally, it's a sci-fi film with a strong female protagonist. Being an action sequel is more important in terms of comparing standards. I didn't judge UNDER THE SKIN based on how exciting it was, nor based on how it compared to another installment. Hey, not everybody will like the same thing. Thank you. Some prefer an ass rocking good time like Aliens. Some prefer films where virtually nothing happens like Under the Skin. But that's the thing: I do like ALIENS. 6 isn't a high rating, but it's still a positive one.

It was merely ok.
It was not difficult to understand imo.
It just sucked at explaining the nuance of its story and instead pretended to have nuance.

Never Let me Go The Green Mile Her AI all of those movies are soooo much better. They're good (especially 'Her') but they don't get close to 'Under The Skin' my opinion. But that's what it is - just an opinion.
