Joy Division by miles and miles. New Order is ok, but if I wanna listen to that type of music I'll take Depeche Mode or Pet Shop Boys instead.

Love both, these days if pressed I'd probably lean toward New Order.

Joy Division. Both are great, but I love Joy Division’s dark, poetic lyrics.

Back when I was at university (mid-to-late 90s), I was over at a friend's apartment - listening to tunes. He was surprised that I knew who Joy Division is/was. My reply?
Joy Division. New Order (as was).
In fact, I asked if I should get into Joy Division. I mean...me being a semi-big New Order fan.
Browsing iTunes, the #1 song of theirs that has been downloaded, I recognized right away. It was "Love Will Tear Us Apart".
I downloaded it.

In between.
The album "Movement" happens to be the best work of both Joy Division and New Order. Why? Because it is both bands in one. After "Movement" New Order were full blown New Order; before "Movement" obviously they were Joy Division. But "Movement" has the best elements of both bands (plus Hannett). It has a danceability to it and it also rocks with guitars. Just listen to the song "Chosen Time." That song is both bands in one. And just imagine if the boys brought that to the studio with Ian still there. Picture Ian's vocals and lyrics over this. Man, what could have been.
