You know Gunsmoke did a great episode in the black and white days about Chief Joseph. It was handled with the truth and dignity, very well done. Or maybe that episode was about the Cardinals jerseys, I forget.

I can however imagine a world where a few things happen differently, leading to Native held territory in modern day North America. You listed some examples that prove my point. South Africa, India, Hong Kong, the Caribbean; are those places populated almost exclusively by people of European descent today? You sure you want to use those as examples of things working out hunky dory for the local community? You think the native people of South Africa had a splendid time? Hell, they had it worse than our Injuns. India? My God, they were treated lower than British bulldogs. Hong Kong? It is still going on there with repression-- now from their own people. Carib? Once again another land of haves and have nots -- the haves being the European settlers, the have nots being the indigenous peoples. The examples you gave prove my point. No matter what the native people did, it was not going to be a wonderful outcome. Fight or acquiesce -- same result.

If you're going to argue disingenuously there's really no point in continuing the conversation. Not the same result, but likely not a good one either way. Eventually leaders like Sitting Bull, Geronimo and Chief Joseph came to understand this. Even then it didn't always end well for them. All that said, are you suggesting they should've surrendered the moment European boats hit the shores? The did what anyone would've done for as long as they could.

All that said, are you suggesting they should've surrendered the moment European boats hit the shores? Never said that nor suggested it. All I have been saying is that history has shown no matter what the native peoples did, it wasn't going to end in any way decent. Fight, run, surrender, cooperate...end result is all the same: CRUSHED. I have also been saying that the fight against colonial troops could not be won. European weaponry and numbers would overcome any native peoples. And what's the point of winning an early battle? That just made the final defeat much more brutal.

Your initial post about Europeans winning due to superior numbers and technology lacked context, so I threw in my two cents. The point of winning an early battle is winning an early battle. If someone set up camp in your backyard would you just hand them the property deed or would you fight for what's yours? It's a ridiculous question, frankly.
As I said previously, there are potential outcomes to the European migration to the Americas that are more favorable to the Natives than what occurred, but in all likelihood none of them is a best case scenario with Natives remaining the dominant culture in the region.

All this because I figured out that "Mad Ants" referred to Anthony Wayne. Jeez...

Although not a fan of either team but I always dug the Dodgers and Yankees home uniforms. The Yankees are, I believe, the only team not to sport the names on the back of the jerseys home or away. In football, I always liked the Colts white on white. I like simple, understated uniforms. The Leaf's white uniforms, Canadiens white uniforms, Flyers burnt orange uniforms(not the current ones, the old ones from the 70's), Lakers road purple, Celtics uniforms in general, but for ostentatious uniforms, I always dug the Astros softball uniforms of the 70's. They wore them on the road and at home.

Is that the meteor? Actually pretty frightening when you look at it.
