Thoughts on my photo? Do I look charming?

As a general rule for me... the odds are in the easy majority of peoples favor to not be THAT bad (as in truly ugly) as it's not easy to stumble into people who's looks are truly ugly (ugly as in ones looks stand out in a negative way). because I would say the vast majority are no worse than below average or so (especially if you gauge people by their age range as you can get a general feel of about how many look after a certain age as it's natural once looks will decline after time passes. but still, ugly is ugly regardless of age pretty much) as it's not often ill look at someone and think to myself 'Damn, that person is ugly!'

with that said... I think some people are too quick to fling around the word 'ugly' towards people. like I suspect many people, if the person does not look good they quickly fling out the word 'ugly' even though that person might be around below average to average range which means they are not actually ugly. because if one sticks more strictly to the term 'ugly' that pretty much means bottom-of-the-barrel, or thereabouts, in looks.

the last time I clearly remember seeing a ugly person was when I was on vacation in Florida back in 2011 at a random store because as soon as I seen this person their looks stood out in a negative way which I felt sorry for her as she seemed nice and all but her looks were pretty much in that truly ugly range.

as for myself, to pretty much break things into the following categories...

-Top Notch
-Above Average
-Slightly Above Average
-High Average
-Mid Average
-Low Average
-Slightly Below Average
-Below Average
-Ugly

I am confident I am somewhere between those in bold above (but to be a little on the safe side, ill say Mid-to-High Average). or I could say I am about average but I would see myself as closer to above average than below average in a basic sense. or put it this way... I can tell my looks are 'good enough' as some people would be pushing it just to reach average range (as in they are more in the below average area) and these kinds of people I feel sorry for as they are sort of semi-doomed from a dating standpoint on their looks alone.

another thing... as long as ones looks are decent-ish, I think other factors can help noticeably boost someones overall attractiveness etc (like even if their looks slip a bit (but obviously nothing too weak), they can potentially make up for it in other ways). I am sure you know what I mean here.

plus, a average picture of someone can only say so much about a person... because I think some pictures can make us look noticeably worse than we actually are in person as I am sure we all have pictures that we feel represent us decently and others clearly not so much. plus, I feel some people are more photogenic than others are as speaking for myself... I think I generally look better in person than random pictures of myself. or I could say this... I think my sister takes better pictures than I do (like she will probably look better in a random picture than I would), but in person I feel I look all around better (at least a bit) but it's probably not surprising as I am closer to my mom in looks where as my sister is more on my dads side and I would say in general my moms side of the family has better looks than my dads side.

also, even to talk about more random stuff like this... maybe it's me, but it almost seems like, at least a fair portion of the time, that sometimes you get two people together who are probably considered more on the good looking side of things and their kids come out so-so and then you might get two decent-ish looking people and their kid comes out cuter etc.

who knows, I am sure there are plenty of things one can look at with this sort of stuff

p.s. I am just assuming we are roughly gauging things more by physical looks. because I am sure as you already know some people might not look bad but they are more of a 'ugly person' sort of thing. then you got the other end in that some people are physically ugly but seem like a decent enough person etc.
