I know that I am late to the party, but I just binged the first four seasons of this show in a few days. I am about to start season five. Am I going to far saying this is a top ten show ever made? Where the heck has this show been all of my life. The acting and writing is absolutely phenomenal. Adrian Brody, Cillian Murphy, and Tom Hardy are the standouts. How has this show not won like a thousand awards?

It's a very good show. I was concerned after Boardwalk Empire ended, something couldn't fill the void. But luckily, Peaky Blinders exists.

I never finished the show. It's good, I like it, but it's the same plot over and over, and the tone never changes.

Currently rewatching for the 4th time... because there's nothing else worth watching on television right now.

I never finished the show. It's good, I like it, but it's the same plot over and over, and the tone never changes. Agreed. Very overrated and episodes drag way too much.

Yeah, I'm in the middle of season 2 and it's picked up a bit since Tom Hardy showed up, but I don't really get the hype. It's fairly cliched, sometimes even cheesy, like when the two gangs were about to go Gangs of New York and then the sister walked in the middle with her baby to deliver a speech. What is this, an after school special? It also feels fairly low stakes as the Shelby's are practically invincible in their luck and plot armor. That whole situation resolved itself with Cillian casually shooting the other leader in the head and no one caring after Cillian got a convenient shoulder wound that a shot of whiskey cures in minutes. Him and his brothers (Cokehead Fredo and the other one with no defining characteristics) can go into enemy bars, start fights with 30 people, and walk out with MAYBE a bloody nose. How often does this family point guns at each other? And of course they never pull the trigger. It makes it so boring and predictable. Of course the undercover cop will fall for Cillian. Of course the righteous, conservative chief inspector is gonna turn into a hooker beating degenerate. Are the Brits/Irish just desperate for their own Sopranos? I'm sure they can do better than this.

I wanted to like it. It has a great cast and good production values, but it has too much domestic stuff and political drama and not enough action and gangster thriller.

This show looks pretty good. I watched one fight scene on YouTube Shorts and it looked good. I might watch this...
But can someone tell me what actually is a "peaky blinder". Sounds like a type of lampshade or curtain.
