I kind of like gin. I used to like bourbon in my twenties, but now it's a little too strong.
Tequila would be my runner up fave.
Vodka has about as little flavor as is possible, and is best for mixed drinks, and scotch, for me, is just awful. Tastes like tree bark.
I also don't like wine. Champagne is okay.
I hate the taste of beer.
Red wine lends itself to the worst hangover, and brandy is second place.

Though I don't drink it often, a single malt scotch like Lophraig with two ice cubes is my ideal cocktail hour drink.
I do have at least a glass of red wine almost everyday.

Beer! I like to drink but I don't like to be drunk. Hard liquor gets me wasted. I can do red wine without problems though. I will stick with a moderately powerful stout though. Anything under 7.5% to be exact. Guinness or Murphy's in the spring and summer, and specialty stouts in the fall and winter. If I'm going to do a flavored stout like maple/bacon, Sriracha, or one of those Mexican coffee stouts, I may do Imperial style which is usually 10.5% or higher. But on a crisp fall day like today, maybe a nice double cream stout. Was this a "what are you drinking now?" thread?

On another note, I never heard of bacon flavored beer! I love bacon. My dad is so funny, he always says crisp bacon smells better than gold. Not that gold has an odor per se, but I know exactly what he means. Thank you for your response. My favorite Mexican stout is Cheech.

My favorite Mexican stout is Cheech. Thanks. If you like Mexican stout, depending on where you're located maybe you can find Odd Side's Mayan Mocha Stout. They make a regular version and an imperial style. The regular version might be a tad pronounced with the Mexican hot chocolate and pepper flavors, but if you can do 11% ABV or so, go for the imperial. Either way, they aren't something where you're going to drink more than 1 or 2, so you might want to go with the imperial.

A good Kentucky Bourbon Beer - usually a German Hefeweizen or a IPA. In the summer though after mowing grass or cooking hamburgers it's usually a cheap domestic lager like Pabst Blue Ribbon or Lone Star.

I love that song. It brings me right back to the Spring of 1999 when I was a freshman at Ball State U. Such bittersweet memories.

I drink for taste as I never understood those who like getting wasted as after a certain point ill simply back off as I don't like the feeling as I don't mind a bit of a buzz but once it reaches a certain point ill back off. but on average I tend to rank like this... 1)Beer (generally Miller Lite (ill mixed it up here and there though with something else). recently I tried some Modelo and it's solid (better than I thought it would be) as I might be having some of this here and there now)
2)Hard Liquor (Tequila (mixed with say Lemonade) etc. I generally stick to Tequila though. NOTE: I think that hard liquor (say Captain Morgan and the like) mixed with Coca-Cola, which seems many like this(?), tastes like crap as while I like Coca-Cola Classic in general(I drink it routinely with meals), pop does not go well with liquor in my book as I tend not to like sugary alcoholic drinks.)
3)Wine (I actually had a little earlier. but I don't drink this much in general, especially since it costs more $. but even cost aside, I still think I would prefer beer or hard liquor over it in general)
Wine also tends to cost the most $ as I think beer is a pretty safe bet in terms of all around taste to $ spent (but I avoid certain brands of beer like Bud Light(this is what I initially started on in Sep 2012 but I won't even touch it now as it's taste does nothing for me even though I realize it's the most popular beer here in the USA I think)). hard liquor, while generally costs more $ upfront, is still quite reasonably priced when mixed and especially bought in larger quantity (like say those 1.75L bottles) . Wine on the other hand, since you tend to need to drink some odd ounces of it, is actually fairly pricey (even with the more reasonable to cheaper bottles) even though in terms of a single bottle it's up front cost are generally less than hard liquor, but don't last nearly as long. so in the end Wine tends to cost the most $ and I don't like it's taste enough to spend the $ so I generally stick to beer/hard liquor a large portion of the time even though I might have a little wine once in a while. but at the same time, since I tend not to drink too much in general... I can stretch out a bottle of wine and make it last a little longer by drinking it more slowly with some small sips/swallows to get maximum taste from it.
