I know this is a long shot. Maybe about 15 years ago, I was playing around on the Intenet and I came across the coolest commercial I have ever seen. It was a Dutch product, a company that was very much like IKEA. And the way they did it was to set up this Rube Goldberg premise, with every household product imaginable moving it forward. But it was done vertically, moving further and further down. Like a free fall in the sky. For example, there would be an iron falling in the air, that knocks into an ironing board, which flips sideways and lights a match which gets the tea kettle boiling, which starts to whistle and releases steam into the air and then starts something else going. The sound effects were perfect. Unfortunately my mind is drawing mostly a blank on what many of those household products used. Though, I do know that at the very end, something finally went "POP" and a sheet of confetti came down and a tune started to play, and that tune, which felt like the ultimate punchline, was exhilarating.
I wish I could remember more, and I doubt anybody will know the commercial I am talking about. But it was soooo cool! There were probably 25 household items that were used in this uber-cool vertical Rube Goldberg, and when the confetti came down, I was totally unprepared for it, and I got a huge chill down my spine. It was just amazing.

Okay, I found something here. Target store did something similar. They did their Rube Goldberg contraption going to right to left, which somehow is less entertaining than falling through the air. But it was pretty cool and pretty much what I tried to describe. The Target RG did not move as fast, and I know it used food items whereas the Dutch commercial really did not (maybe a couple times) and the Target commercial, in fact was a bit sluggish at times and that subtracted from the cool factor, as well; BUT, there did get used the tea kettle and it felt very, very much like the tea kettle in the Dutch product, which makes me think that the Target people saw the Dutch commercial and borrowed from it. And the sound effect for the tea kettle was, if memory serves me well, EXACTLY THE SAME as the Dutch commercial. And when I saw the balloons, I remembered that the Dutch commercial had incorporated balloons as well. So, that made me feel better about my memory. Also, the Target one used the handheld egg beater/electric blender, which the Dutch one did, and it also used a fan blowing, which I think the Dutch one also did. So I think maybe something is definitely there. But no falling confetti and no musical punchline. But this is pretty cool and close enough to the feel for Dutch commercial to satisfy a bit.
