My favorite part of the trailer was that Finn does not speak. or do anything. at all. That's how I like him That's how Poe likes him, too, from the spoilers I've read! *rimshot* I think the next trilogy should have a transgender trio of heroes. And only the bad guys should be straight

Yes, I had completely forgotten the quote: "Size matters not, but numbers, a beyotch, they are!!" Why would you need Yoda to spell out what the film explicitly shows us? Perhaps it's the order of events / the film itself you've forgotten rather than any quotes... If you really believe that the story and the size matters not meant that it was difficult to pick up a handful of sand because it was separate pieces, then go for it. Maybe that's why Anakin hated it so, lol. But Yoda and George Lucas wanted to teach a lesson about faith in whatever you choose to believe in there on Dagobah. Go and count your pebbles and lose the message of the scene if you want. But you're cheating yourself out of what was being conveyed, IMHO. It is a shame to lose the message that was so wonderfully laid out in the OT just to try to pick apart the PT and the ST.

Yet here we have Rey juggling literally hundreds of objects (size unimportant) at once! Is this not absolutely amazing? We've never seen anything like this before have we - even in the prequels? They are altering the canon deal; pray that they do not alter it any further. They already did the god-mode thing - aggressively so - in Force Awakens, so it only seems consequent here. You cannot change official canon, but you can still change your personal canon and voice it. Still, if a Force tree falls in a space filled with vegetables and no sensible mind is around to hear it, does it even make a sound?

Good point re Anakin Maybe you're looking at my "size matters not" comment from the wrong perspective though:- What I was trying to say is that Luke's training (as per ESB) was first picking up one rock. Then he gets into a wobble over size. Past this though the very next thing we see him training in is picking up multiple items - the boxes, one at a time, then R2. This is shown to take additional concentration, i.e. It's past his first basic effort. He lifts them up one at a time. It's only at this point, if you think about what Yoda says about size not mattering, that if you compare Luke levitating three objects with Rey's lifting dozens of stones that you should be starting to go huh? You could almost consider it as being like a deliberate joke at the expense of that OT showing of "how the force works"...

The only reason you think that because Rey is Rey instead of Ray. Had the new Force Using hero been male, you'd all be praising The Force Awakens for giving you another badass main character. So people who like strong female characters in other movies and TV shows but have problems with the way that Rey is written are misogynists? So people who like other strong SW female characters but don't like things about Rey only feel that way because Rey is female? So I guess anyone who doesn't like Finn is a racist. Thanks for clearing that up for us! I believe Han Solo (in TESB) said it best... "I'm glad you're here to tell us these things! Chewie take the professor in the back and plug him into the hyperdrive!"

That's a stretch.... Not really. Most Star Wars fans are male, and with Rey around, you can't watch the new films and expect to see male fantasies about being the big strong hero saving the girl. You want Rey to be like Leia and Padme, occasionally badass, but usually needing to be saved.

Star Wars had always been a male-dominated franchise up 'til December 2015, and you always had male heroes to look up to and fantasize about emulating, so you could be the hero who saves the girl. Rey doesn't need saving, and you can't live with that.

You people all bend over backwards to defend every bad decision that was made during the filming of the prequel trilogy, but Rey is what makes you declare "RUINED FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"? Give me a freaking break.

Its that same pitiful scapegoat defense for anyone who voiced a criticism of the Rey character, no matter how slight or no matter what nature it was. It's stereotyping based on ignorance. The only one deceiving themselves is you. Especially to think that her character is 100% flawless against a critical opinion and the only motive would be misogyny. Delusional...

Oh, look, a Star Wars fan unwilling to accept the truth. How original. Get back to me when you've accepted that the prequel trilogy is trash.

Get back to me when you're done licking JJ Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy's butt cheeks. They obviously taste so good to you that you're brainwashed into thinking your precious Rey and TFA is flawless. You probably have a shrine erected to them all. You're the "Leave Brittany alone!!!" guy, the Rey/TFA version. How sad and small...
