Yes. You people all bend over backwards to defend every bad decision that was made during the filming of the prequel trilogy, but Rey is what makes you declare "RUINED FOREVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"? Give me a freaking break. Really? That's news to me.... Everytime I look around here, it's a prequel-loving-sequel-hating circlejerk of nonsense.

You seem to be a little too emotional to speak rationally on this subject, dude. Here's a nickel's worth of free advice: Look in the mirror, take a breath, and repeat after me: "This is only a message board."

Says the idiot who thinks anyone who criticizes a fictional female character that he worships is automatically a misogynist. Yeah, you're delusional! Straight up coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs! And to you, anyone who criticizes the prequel trilogy is automatically an ungrateful jerk who just doesn't get Lua$'$ vision. At least I have standards. No, people who criticized the prequels aren't ungrateful jerks. Just the ones like you who are Plinkett lemmings incapable of having independent thought on SW besides parroting one of their reviews. And who are obsessed with hating them a decade later. And who blame every problem in SW on the prequels and people who like them. Scratch that, blame every problem in the world on the prequels! And who actually put all their self esteem into thinking that they are better than people who like the prequels. Yeah, that type of prequel hater. And you obviously are one. You wouldn't know real standards if they walked up and slapped you in the face.

If you really believe that the story and the size matters not meant that it was difficult to pick up a handful of sand because it was separate pieces, then go for it. Maybe that's why Anakin hated it so, lol. But Yoda and George Lucas wanted to teach a lesson about faith in whatever you choose to believe in there on Dagobah. Go and count your pebbles and lose the message of the scene if you want. But you're cheating yourself out of what was being conveyed, IMHO. It is a shame to lose the message that was so wonderfully laid out in the OT just to try to pick apart the PT and the ST. Good point re Anakin Maybe you're looking at my "size matters not" comment from the wrong perspective though:- What I was trying to say is that Luke's training (as per ESB) was first picking up one rock. Then he gets into a wobble over size. Past this though the very next thing we see him training in is picking up multiple items - the boxes, one at a time, then R2. This is shown to take additional concentration, i.e. It's past his first basic effort. He lifts them up one at a time. It's only at this point, if you think about what Yoda says about size not mattering, that if you compare Luke levitating three objects with Rey's lifting dozens of stones that you should be starting to go huh? You could almost consider it as being like a deliberate joke at the expense of that OT showing of "how the force works"... LOL.

But honestly dude I just don't get the "LOL" at all - I guess we're just not on the same page on this one

Well, after reading that rant, there is only one thing to say: Thank you for showing the whole world how utterly lacking you are in mental capacity.

I saw Dagobah as a lesson in Faith, suspending your disbelief when your senses tell you something shouldn't be happening and being able block out all doubt. Luke worked up his way into suspending his doubt through Yoda's teachings being able to fight doubt bit by bit until he could believe that he could ally with the Force enough to do as you describe. But he couldn't believe that he could use the Force to lift the ship, his lack of Faith stopped him, not the size of the ship. You really believe he couldn't suspend his disbelief enough to have the faith to float a handful of gravel? At least that's what I got from Dagobah, Size matters not, nor does the physical count. It's the limit of what he could allow himself to believe he could do with the Force as his ally that limited what could be done.

Um, hate to break it to you, but that's not how it works.

Um, hate to break it to you, but that's not how it works. Way to miss the point Sherlock! Not to mention falsely frame the argument. Didn't I start off by saying people who criticize the prequels are not jerks. Guess you totally ignored that part because you were in such a hurry to try and get to a critical insult. If you had read over 'weird raptors' thread, he implies people who like the prequels are unintelligent, have no taste or standards, and are deserving of insults. Then on top of that he says that anyone using critical thought on the Rey character (yeah, that critical thought you're shooting your mouth off to defend) is automatically a misogynist. So if you had been paying attention you would've seen that I was defending critical thinking, but holding him accountable for stereotyping and bullying and insulting. But sounds like you share the same opinions and tactics he does... I'll be waiting for you scold weird raptor about not allowing critical thought on Rey. But I know you won't. You extreme prequel haters and TFA worshippers are all the same. You think you can jam up somebody with standards and then not live up to those same standards on your side of the argument. What a joke!

A condescending idiot who misses the logic and points of people's comments he doesn't agree with! He just sifts through the words and sentences and edits the content of people's statements to see what he can attack and insult.

When Rey does her Man Of Steel(tm) hundreds of peebles moving trick this doesn't stack up right? Luke managed to simultaneously juggle what, maybe three or four rocks at once? Yoda tells him size doesn't matter, so that's a mind over matter feat for the uninitiated novice to overcome right? Yet here we have Rey juggling literally hundreds of objects (size unimportant) at once! Is this not absolutely amazing? We've never seen anything like this before have we - even in the prequels? To be fair, you've probably given this moment more thought than the filmmakers.

Yeah, he sort of half-ass skims and then fires off some ill-conceived bullshit that doesn't quite make sense and comes off like he has Asperger syndrome. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Say what you want about weirdraptor but at least he can, like, rhetorically hit the ball back across the net without tripping over himself. This guy is -- yeah.

Pretty sure I've given more thought to my left nut than the "filmmakers" (which is an extremely generous term for a bunch of evil, Pavlovian swine munching Doritos in a sound-mixing booth to put a nice, subconsciously pleasing nostalgic sheen over the top of the entire movie to trick idiots into thinking they enjoyed it) did anything regarding this half-baked "sequel trilogy" up to this point.

Possibly - but I'm starting to wonder if these little inconsistencies are perhaps a bit of sneaky joke making on the directors' part:- Did that "that's not how the force works" line in TFA not come almost directly in the scene following Rey's self-learning Jedi mind tricks? Maybe these are actually deliberate in-jokes dropped by the directors rather than any thoughtless errors...
