Then does that mean this new Batman movie isn't part of the DCEU? Because ok I get that Ben Affleck ain't returning as Batman but what happened to JK Simmons as Gordon? Why ain't he coming back?
If they say it's supposed to be a prequel then that would be something but then Gordon is black now....
I still have no idea if this is meant to be part of the DCEU or what. To me this whole thing seems to be falling apart so badly that it's almost like they're just fazing it out entirely to go back into having individual movies again.

That’s precisely what they’re doing. The Snyderverse failed, so they’re now ignoring the shared universe concept and focusing on solo movies.

Shazam exists in the same continuity as Superman and Batman though. And Aquaman acknowledged Justice League was a thing. I think they're just not gonna do what Marvel does and have a 5 minute cameo as a friendly reminder that it's the same universe. I'm fine with that.

Looks like it, I don't mind Wright being Gordon but there are a lot more interesting characters an actor of his level could portray for a movie, i.e. Calendar Man, Hugo Strange, Mr. Freeze, etc.
I think The Batman not being in the DCEU continuity is a missed opportunity of sorts, it would've been fresh for a shared universe to go back and forth to a younger and older Batman with set up coming from the contemporary films featuring Batman and other associated characters and then establishing history in the past in an 80's or 90's era story. That way you could have two actors being Batman at once, one younger(in this case Pattinson) and one older(Affleck). No doubt it might be a bit tricky to pull off, but it would be cool to have happened.

Aren't you like the main dude here? I thought it was long established this was a reboot.

Aren't you like the main dude here? I thought it was long established this was a reboot. Technically, there hasn’t been any statement about the film being a reboot. Back in 2017, Matt Reeves implied that it would take place in the same universe as Snyderverse, and there were reports from the beginning of the year that claimed the movie would take place in the 90s. While it is becoming increasingly apparent that the film has nothing to do with Ben Affleck’s Batman, no one involved with the film has actually come out and said it outright.

Oh I'd long last track of what was going on by the time they kept announcing new DCEU movies every other week and different actors were dropping out. I have no idea what is going on anymore. Wikipedia says it is a future DCEU movie, a Batman movie set during the early days of his career.
