Interesting choice, no? She hasn't has a #1 single in 16 years, going all the way back to 2003. And she's only had 4 #1 songs according to Billboard. I don't know about you, but she doesn't get any radio play around me. So why do you think she was chosen for the halftime show? www.billboard.com/music/jennifer-lopez/chart-history/HSI/

Could be a cultural thing, female and Latino checks a lot of boxes (notice Shakira is the other performer).

Diversity (aka no whitey allowed).
Didn't she appear at a concert for Hillary?

SuperBowl halftime acts are very often past their prime. Then again, she was never THAT huge to begin with.

So, who has been the WORST half-timer in Super Bowl history?

Name brand. Surely, that's half the advertising work right there.

She is still attractive and likes to wear as little clothes as possible.
She can't sing, but she doesn't have to.
I'd rather have a real singer with a real voice. Maybe Selena Gomez.

This is why she was chosen: I'd take Sheryl Crow instead.
