Here's one about an ex-French Navy minesweeper that became an exploration ship. There ya go THE. Love me some JD. I believe that is a tribute to the ship Jacque Cousteau sailed on.

From: "Vanishing Point" (1971)... Jimmy Walker - "Where Do We Go From Here" Christopher came, in the name of Spain, in fourteen ninety two. He said I think the world is round and I believe I can prove it's true. The war was raged and the ships were laid, but onward Christopher came. His desperate dream finally found a shore and the world's never been the same.Hooray for the men of vision Who are never satisfied Who believe the way to a better world Is to give it a better try Hooray for the men of vision May they never disappear Who live just to ask the question Where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go from here?
Taking a look through the history book, It's amazing how far we've come. Now some folks say, There's no more to learn, Others say we've just begun. We've explored the world from inside out, And in time we tried outside in. We maybe there lies the answer, to peace among all men.
Hooray for the men of vision Who are never, never satisfied Who believe the way to a better world Is to give it a better try Hooray for the men of vision May they never disappear Who believe just to ask the question Where do we go? Where do we go? Where do we go from here?
Ahhhh!
I don't no where, no
Ahhhh!

Ahhhh! I will never understand the random naked chick on a motorcycle just driving around on the property in that movie.

That's the one. The OP used the song about the Edmund Fitzgerald, and I wasn't sure if he wanted songs about real ships or not, so I played it safe.

Another Liverpool number: Are you a Scouser too? Nope. A yank through and through. My father gave me a book on Liverpool slang in 1964 though!

Nope. A yank through and through. My father gave me a book on Liverpool slang in 1964 though! Why? Were his parents from Liverpool, or was it because of The Beatles?

Because of his kids' obsession with the Beatles. Do you know what a 'butty' is? You might have to check your book of slang. I had to look that up. A Hard Day's Night has a lot of slang that to this day is generally unrecognizable to most Americans. Eg, Ringo was in the "Bridewell" (jail). "Mixer" = troublemaker. Not sure either of those is specifically Scouse.
