Stop with the semantics. It's very clearly meant to be The Phoenix. They just chose a different origin. They ditched the space crap, because frankly there was no place for it in the film's version. There was absolutely no build up to it. To just suddenly throw it in in the last movie would have felt out of place. It’s not a different origin. That was the original idea in the comics before all the retcons.

Are you talking about the same Apocalypse where Bryan Singer basically abandoned the film due to his behavior, leaving Kinberg to fill in? The one that barely grossed more than Ant-Man and was largely dismissed by critics as a bloated mess? That masterpiece and smash hit of a film?
You do realize that the studio doesn't get to keep all of the box office gross, right? Some of that actually goes to the theaters. With China, they keep most of it. And most big budget movies, especially comic book movies, hit #1 when they first hit home video. It's nothing to brag about. The film made some money, but not much.
Take off those rose-tinted glasses and try to be objective for once, as hard as it may be. You may view these films as cinematic gold, but you're kidding yourself if you think that extends beyond your own opinion.
I'm 100% objective and emotionally detached in my technical judgment. The movie is a brilliant superhero masterpiece. The X-Men movie we always wished to get. And it was a smash hit anyway and made some profit. That's undeniable. It's not my fault if you blindly follow the MCU trend, no matter how some movies are bad, juvenile and childish... Talk about blindly following...geez.
I know it's hard for someone like yourself to be self-aware, but it's clear to everyone here that you're completely biased and incapable of being objective when it comes to these films. That's the only thing that's undeniable here. It's fine if that's your opinion, which is all it is, but good luck finding anyone who agrees with you that Apocalypse is a "brilliant superhero masterpiece" and "the X-men movie we always wished to get".
I enjoy the MCU films quite a lot, but I don't blindly follow them. I didn't grow up with those characters, so I'm more forgiving with those films and any shortcomings they may have. I enjoy them for what they are, which is great entertainment that does it's own thing, but also honors the spirit of the comic books.
With X-Men though, I hold a much higher standard since that was what I grew up with. And the films we got, although they started out fine, don't get close to what we deserve. The animated series from the 90s runs circles around the films and I consider that show to be the current gold standard adaptation. If they could do that in live action, that would be for me, the X-Men movie I always wished to get.
But you go ahead and obsess yourself with those Fox-Men films. They obviously satisfy you even if they do require your little timeline fan-fiction project so that they make more sense to you, which really shouldn't be necessary, but whatever.

Dear Buddy 47, I know it's hard for someone like yourself to be self-aware, but it's clear to everyone here that you're completely biased and incapable of being objective when it comes to these FOX films. That's the only thing that's undeniable here. It's fine if that's your opinion, which is all it is, but good luck finding anyone who agrees with you that Apocalypse is not a competent and well-made movie. It's humble, but it's well-made and grabbed the attention of hundreds of thousands out there. I'm a constructive fan, not a nerdy hater like you.

So now Apocalypse has been downgraded to simply competent and well-made? What happened? Anything else you want to re-think?
Your timeline project shouldn't be necessary. It's nice of you to try to make up for their mistakes and carelessness, but if something like that is needed to make sense of these films, then they did something wrong.

No. For some, the movie is that. For me and some others, it's a superhero movie masterpiece. That's it.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix Whoa. Deadpool #3? It’s one of those things where I’m not sure if it’s a better movie than say X2, but I’m personally much more likely to rewatch it. It was just unlike any superhero film I had seen up to that point, much like Deadpool had been unlike any comic book character I had read when I first discovered him.

OK...not sure what you're looking for here...I know what I have seen and what I consider the worst. A clip isn't going to change my mind. Though I'm not saying it isn't in the bottom 3 or 4
