I actually don't know. I suppose hard salami. Only have it at parties and spreads.
And I had a Hebrew National salami sandwich pretty much every day in Jr. High School.

Although friends of mine think I am crazy, I also love fresh (not smoked) liver sausage.

Although friends of mine think I am crazy, I also love fresh (not smoked) liver sausage. Me too. I love that stuff. You have to eat it very soon after purchasing it, though. That stuff doesn't keep very well at all. When I get it, I only buy enough to be eaten in one or two servings within 24 hours or less.

Zolotoy: My local supermarket no longer carries fresh liver sausage because they informed me that they were throwing most of it away because no one was buying it, except me!

Well, well... that's gotta' suck! Me, I've loved liver sausage ever since I was a kid. I knew kids at school who HATED the stuff, but I grew up in a family of German heritage, so it was verboten not to like it, lol.

I used to love Oscar Meyer liver sausage when I was a kid and often took it for my lunch in school. I tried it again a few years ago and I no longer cared for it. I never had fresh liver sausage but remember it being very popular in many of the small delis in the Chicago area.

I never had fresh liver sausage but remember it being very popular in many of the small delis in the Chicago area. I still like Oscar Meyer liver sausage (Braunschweiger, I believe it's called) to this day (even though it's more processed and not like "the real thing" you get at an authentic meat market). But, I haven't seen it around for a couple years now. It suddenly vanished off the shelves at all the local stores and markets I go to in my area. Lack of demand, perhaps... So for now and the foreseeable future I'll be buying the fresh liver sausage at a deli near me.
