I find him overrated; his films are drawn out, dull, over-acted, pretentious and shallow.

I loved the first 2/3rd of "Boogie Nights" - loved it to pieces, but when the 1970s got capped off - and then he went into exploring the 1980s, the movie's pace and intensity and outlook all changed and I didn't care for it one bit. It was pretentious and unnecessary and took too long. Not to mention boring. Why couldn't he have just left it alone? The 70s section was so much fun. I thoroughly despised "Magnolia". Tom Cruise gave a good performance and that was it. That goddamn frog metaphor at the end.

Excellent, thanks for the news. Sounds like the kind of movie Richard Linklater might make.
