Not at all surprised. It was really really good. Saw it opening night with some friends and am glad we got there pretty early. The show ended up being PACKED in a big theater and the entire audience seemed to be really into it (laughing through out and applauding at times). Definitely the crowd pleaser of the year.
9/10

Great to hear. It’s sounding like a real crowd pleaser.

This is good news for 20th Century Fox after Bob Iger gave them a public spanking during a recent shareholder's call

Pretty solid movie. There is something that happens that I wish they hadn't foreshadowed because when they did the foreshadowing, I spent the rest of the movie expecting it to happen, and therefore it came as no surprise.

This is a good movie elevated to great in my opinion purely off of Mangold's direction AND the wonderful score of Marco Beltrami. I was surprised at how much I was into it purely off of the score itself. Heroic when it needs to be, introspective when it needs to be.
Loved the work Damon and Bale do individually and together, I think I actually preferred Damon here though.

6/10 At the beginning, KEN threw his trophies to the garbage can. PETER took them and put them under his bed. Did I miss something, or was that never brought up again? I thought it was meant to pay off later. Pretty solid movie. What thing? Not sure if the spoiler tag works on tapatalk, but I'll try it. Just in case it doesn't work, SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER the part where the son talks about a racer who got stuck in their car and died, after that I expected it to happen.

Hmmm, I don't know, that fight between Batman and Jason Bourne was very underwhelming....
Seriously now, I loved it. The two-and-a-half hours flew by. Definitely worth the price of IMAX admission.

Change the genders and the Guardian review would have given it 5 stars.

Change the genders and the Guardian review would have given it 5 stars. I guess it it's not as good as Batwoman, too bad

I’d give it an A-. Pretty damn good. Bale and Damon were excellent.

Pretty sad commentary on their review system. Guess they wanted the mysterious Racer "X" to appear at Le Mans driving the No. 9 shooting star that magically happens to be a woman.

I just got out of the movie. What’s-her-face from Outlander not only had more screen time than Henry Ford II, but she had some great scenes with Bale. Bradshaw is a crap critic anyway.

I'm seeing the movie this weekend so will more vigilant on this issue. But Bradshaw is bit of a contrarian and pretentious, which is film Guardians middle name.

Great movie. Definitely a crowdpleaser. In recent years that word has gotten some negative connotations due to movies like Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody, so a lot of people connect the word crowdpleaser with plain, forgettable and mediocre. But luckily Dolemite Is My Name and now Ford v Ferrari show that a movie can be a crowdpleaser without dumbing down the subject matter, while keeping the writing at a high level as well. Ford v Ferrari isn't just a beautifully acted, shot, edited movie (with phenomenal sound editing & mixing btw), but also a very well written story. Even though it's of course a true event, some of the creativity vs. company control felt a bit generic in its execution and writing, but that's the only minor flaw I have. High 8/10, maybe even a 9/10 but I'll have to think about that.
