Ex-Carry On Whatever actor Jim Dale has read aloud all the Harry Potter books. Imagine having to find 143 different voices from your own, and remembering them when needed. No wonder they have Grammy awards for audio book narrators.

Good old Jim Dale. Only found out recently that was a pop star too back in the 50s.

Thanks Carl, excellent article. My favourite narrator is Simon Vance, he did a magnificent job on Dan Simmons' "The Terror" (about 30 hours long). I have his reading of "Jerusalem" by Alan Moore (loved the book, a favourite) to listen to sometime, that book is over a million words! about 1100 pages long so must have been a huge effort. He worked alongside Moore so should be a good one.
