Even though it's not the original, the photo of the present shop gives an irresistible desire to hop a shuttle to Paris and nestle down in the cluttered glory of the place. I've often thought a fascinating film (or today, more likely miniseries) could be made about Beach and her legendary enterprise. Maybe someday it'll happen.

I'm a bit confused after reading the article - the one that exists now is a different one that the original and not the original one re-opened? If so, then what happened to the original? I know it said it wasn't re-opened after the war so was it demolished? If so, that's so sad.
