Did anyone else immediately think of Justin when Julie mentioned the loss of Adrienne, before they remembered the Steve was her brother? As I write this, I haven't even gotten to the part yet where they reveals who Kayla's male companion is, and I'm calling it that it's not Steve. They're being too damn coy, for one thing, playing the pronoun game and dancing around actually saying his name. And it was unintentionally funny when Julie mentioned Adrienne, because instead of being a subtle hint meant to imply Steve, only for it to apply to Justin, had the opposite effect; where I thought, "oh, wow, I thought they were drag this out making everybody think Steve is back and back with Kayla and here' they've confirmed it's actually Justin....." And it was a couple of minutes before it dawned on me that Steve was her brother and would have been affected by Adrienne's death too.
The stories with Lani and Kristy becoming nuns and everything with John and Hope is just stupid.
Seriously, is Lani even Catholic? The idea that every fucking person in Salem is somehow, inexplicably, all a member of the same sect of Christianity is straining credulity.
And then, whatever is going on with John and Marlena, it all comes about because of a job offer out of town that Marlena can't take because of John's commitments in Salem? Come on. It gets even dumber when "Gina" is able to manipulate John so easily.
Why can't John move his private detective business? How has John, let alone Marlena, not retired yet? Why was John so into that wine? I really could have done without seeing his O-face....
I do kind of have to admit, no matter how unlikely it is that Kristen Dimera would still be capable of naturally conceiving a child to carry at her age; it actually kind of sucks for the writers to have her carry the child so far along only to lose it. After 25-30 years, they seemed to have brought her back to a good place, only to rip it away again - which is arguably karma for a lot of what she's done in the interim, but it still seems to cruel.
Getting real sick of the flashbacks to what happened over the last year, but I'm not remotely surprised by them....
